Caleb is the fabric of this program and left it out on the line, while banged up.

We needed all of our front line players to step up when Mag went down.

The Mulcahy saga is in another thread that I started that highlights where our PG play stands vs the rest of the B1G.

Mulcahy in 20 B1G games is below.

10.6 PPG in 1st 12 B1G games. RU with an 8-4 B1G record.

5.6 PPG in last 8 games.....RU with a 2-6 record.

I blame Paul for the collapse more than anyone. When he was asked to be an alpha for once, he disappeared.

I know Caleb shouldn't diss his teammates, but the "replacements" for Mag are what has caused this dive. I know every is doing the best they can, but the lack of talent beyond the first six is the reason for this predicament.

it is a problem. Playing great defense is essential for keeping us in games but good offense beats good defense no matter what 99 percent of the time. Our defense can be great all game but at some point the other team will beat our d. If our offense can’t be at least average we aren’t beating anyone decent.

Alabama and Houston are two teams we need to model going forward ; great offense , great d. Bama does not run repeatable offense but has length and athletes all over the floor . All they do is drive and drive and kick for 3.

We've gotten flashes of depth from Palmquist in a couple of games, Simpson in a few games, but the back end of most B1G rosters are more game ready with the Top half of the conference.

We are closer in lack of depth to Wisconsin, Penn State and Northwestern. The starting guards for those programs are just better than what we put on the floor.

I'm sure the offseason will be one of the most discussed in a very long time, but even with this 2-6 finish, the overall resume is still a NCAA resume. Doesn't mean the last 2 games or truly 3 games weren't mostly ugly basketball. But someone stepping up and creating some offense can help.

Mag got hurt the press ended. Teams got over half court and 8 seconds was off the clock. Mag was big loss.

He is not wrong. Prior to the season I was concerned about who would be the go to guy to score in a big spot. Cam seemed to be the answer early on in the year, but teams have figured out how to defend him. We need a guy who can create his own shot and is not afraid to want the ball in a big spot.
