Be careful what you wish for. Up until they start playing everything is great but one inexplicable loss and it all goes downhill.Thank goodness. It has been a rough year.
Saw a quote from Ace Reece, whatever the lineup is we will hit. This is easily the most offensive firepower I’ve ever seen for a Mississippi State team. It’s ridiculous.I'm always excited about baseball season, but this year is even better. There's virtually no chance this team isn't damned good. There's just too much depth and the coaching staff is A+.
It's gonna be a fun year.
ETA: Below are the options we have at each position. Try and put together the worst possible lineup. It'll still be a damned strong lineup. There just aren't any major holes anywhere.

Fact:Maybe the most excited I’ve been for a MS baseball season since,…… maybe ever!
(I should be prepared to be very disappointed)
You guys screwing with the injuns are discounting injuries. I fully expect O’Connor to be coaching from a hospital bed on a loft balcony now. Thanks!![]()
just kidding… I think they are going to be bad *** this year.

Yep most offensive firepower in atleast 30 years. Not only that but I think the biggest thing is the depth of that offensive firepower. We aren’t just relying on 9 dudes, we legit have 16 or so SEC starters, and the cream will rise, we can weather injuries, weather slumps. We are gonna put up a lot of runs this yearSaw a quote from Ace Reece, whatever the lineup is we will hit. This is easily the most offensive firepower I’ve ever seen for a Mississippi State team. The 1989 lineup is probably the only one that could compare to this years. Look at this year's position players compared to the 2021 National Champions. I think there's 3 position players from 2021 that would for sure start for this year's team: TA, Rowdey & LoTan. The bench players have even greater discrepancies. Below is a comparison of 2021's players and their stats vs this years likely starters along with their stats from last year:I’ve been following Mississippi State baseball since 1979 & I have never seen a lineup like this.
89 team could have matched up ok 1-9, and 85 could have 1-8. But neither of those teams had anywhere near the really quality depth this team does. We could literally play our 2nd string & be competitive. The 1989 lineup is probably the only one that could compare to this years. I really don’t think that will be the case. I think we’re going to all see what the real mostly unrealized potential MSU baseball really has. We’ve held coaches to a much lower standard than we should have for decades. And too many of them have taken advantage of it.I’ve looked into the 6 pack board future posts. And it looks like in April there will be lots of “he just needs time to build a foundation for his team” posts.
Didn't Ron Polk jump at the chance for about a 100k salary back in 1974 to coach at MSU? Think he came from GaSouthern. We had a little 3k wooden grandstand that was packed so often, it was about as sketchy as some of those wobbly outfield contraptions (deathtraps?) Excitement was at a fever pitch with some of the players and entertainment brought into that little high school field-like stadium. BTW, Ole Miss had a cow pasture with a total of 500 seats they never filled unless MSU took the seats when we went up there to play. Ole Miss only has the program they have today because of one thing.....MSU's Ron Polk. LSU too for that matter.I really don’t think that will be the case.
