Sooners have lost 5 straight (Florida, Missouri, Tenn, Auburn) but before that they blasted Vandy at Norman by 30 points.

Should be a close one and hope we play D like we did the 2nd half against A&M

They are a bad matchup in that they love to shoot threes. If they shoot like so many other teams have against us then they win. If we can keep their % down then we have the upper hand.

Everything else is a bad matchup for them. I realize that the three point D is not good but you can’t discount the rest of the matchup.

Yeah this team has regularly been getting crushed in the paint lately. If we stay out of foul trouble then I think they will have a really hard time handling Key and Cam.

They also are pretty bad in terms of turnover margin and we have been turning teams over a lot lately.

OK has a higher 3pt shooting % than Florida. We need to finish this season with the D we saw in the 2nd half of A&M. Otherwise OK will blast us.

Horrible spot for us. Them coming off 5 straight losses, playing at home with their tourney hopes on the line. Us having won two straight big games. I would give them a big edge because they will be fighting for their lives at home.

I’m going to the game with my boys. I think we will be able to enjoy it. Very little concern we fall apart to OU.

It’s so funny how the natural reaction of people here is to assume a team that is 3-10 in the league and has lost 5 in a row, including at home to 2-win LSU will crush us. They shoot the three well, but literally everything else we are better at them at. Florida blew them out of the water last game and the game before that, they lost to LSU. We should win this game.

Yeah this is not the same caliber of team as the ones we’ve been losing to in conference play.

Maybe they are due…. Or what if they just aren’t any good.

OK is not great but they can and will beat us if we don’t come out and play with relentless defensive pressure and we make a few 3’s and we rebound like we’re capable and we shoot 70% or better from the stripe and we win the TO battle.
Easy.

We opened as a 1.5 point favorite, up to 2.5 now
The last time we played in Norman we should have won, but were flat. My oldest and I were at that game, he was stationed in Lawton. It wasn't a heavily attended game, we moved from our middle of the zero u crowd to right behind our bench.

How are you surprised by the pessimism of our fam base? I’ve given up attempting to understand the bipolar issues of our message board warriors. Authentic to the core they are.

A lot of that is being down a lot, shooting more 3’s, and against not as aggressive defense.

Like a football team who is 2-10 but leads the country in passing yards

MSU should win. MSU is 26 in the NET. The only teams to beat MSU have NET rankings of 14 or higher with the exception of Butler with a NET of 81. UF is #4 in the NET, Mizzou is #13 in the net. I think UF is ascending. Every SEC school has a stretch of tough tough games. UK is going to finish on one - MSU caught theirs early and now finishes with OU #53, @ Bama #6, LSU #79, UTex #35, @Arky #44. Bama is a tough one at their place but they do have a potentially tough match up with UK this saturday, @ Arky could also be a tough one if they are still in the NCAA mix.

MSU could finish on a 6-1 run with some MO going into the SEC Tournament.

Doesn’t seem like this is going to be a good crowd in Norman. Looking at their ticket website, there are basically entire sections of unsold seats. Sections plural. And the get in price on seat geek before fees is $2. Heck I wish Norman was closer because you can outstanding seats for this game for cheaper than it costs to eat at an Applebee’s.

In other news, Vandy is a possible last four in. So they really want to beat Ole Miss today.

The last several home games their crowds have been terrible.

They're definitely not playing well now, but this team was 13-0 entering SEC play with wins over Arizona, Louisville and Michigan.
The SEC has ground them up, but the only team that has won easily in Norman is Tennessee.

I expect it to be a grind. We sure as hell better be ready to play.
