The offense had a tad more flow to it toward the end of the half. I do think in the half court, playing inside/out could be a good move if we move without the ball to screen and get open shooters and cuts.

He got to the rim. It’s a start. Nobody else can.
That's the thing, JJ can get to the rim at will, it's what he does when he gets there that is infuriating.
Earlier in the season, he got a couple of sweet assists, but he’s so hard headed, he refuses to just try to be a pg. He could get good minutes if he would just share the ball.

Pretty good half considering MSU's hot start.

Moreno is balling. I liked our last play of the half. Chandler missed a fantastic look from 3 though.

We could build a pretty good team around Williams and Moreno if they are so inclined to return. I am not saying they will be first team All SEC, but they have the ability to be key members on an elite team.

I thought so as well, his shot looks good in practice. If he ever translates that to the game he would be fine. Sadly nobody defends, but he seems to be one of the ones who pays for it and never sees the light of day but he seems to understand the game better than most on the team. He at least doesn’t throw a pass to the middle of the stands.
His shot looks ok. He just needs some to drop. I’m not sure why he was in popes doghouse but he should be a key cog on this team. Frankly at this point I’d start him and see what happens. What’s there to lose?

Also regarding Chandler, if he had any guile or craftiness to finish around the rim with a modicum of defensive presence, he'd easily be our best guard. As he is now, he just isn't a threat when he gets inside the 3 point line.

Jasper is talented but just not at PG. He doesn’t have the court vision to pass and create.
DA isn’t close to being a pg, but Pope keeps going to him.
Jasper has so much potential as a pg, but he refuses to share the ball at the most opportunistic times.
He bricked a 3 footer after getting to the rim, totally misses the rim.

With this team we will have more bonehead plays than normal, but they seemed to decided to throw their plums on the table and play hard finally.
I hope it holds up.
hard play should never be in doubt.

I still think you gotta ride it out with JJ and let him adapt to the college game. Yea he does all the things people say. But the teams potential would be better with him getting more confident imo. I wouldn’t say that if Aberdeen was lighting it up for us.

If you’re serious about the rest of the season Pope. You start this half with Aberdeen, Oweh, Kam, Jelavic and Moreno. Sprinkle in a little JJ, Mo and Chandler as needed. Garrison can’t be counted on to ever play smart basketball. He was abysmal that half. He just doesn’t have any feel for the game. Let Lowe sit. He can’t be counted on either. Who knows about JQ.

I figured Pope was at least smart enough to get 2 for 1’s but, like Cal, apparently is not
He at least went for it. Had Moreno on the duck in but MSU fouled with 37 seconds to go so at that point you would just be getting a rushed shot

100% and he should have played more minutes against all those cupcakes. Coach the hell out of him. He could he a damn good pg, Aberdeen is a stiff at pg and has no future there.

Pope is 100% responsible for the talent he brought here. He needs to lick his wounds and put about 2 or 3 assigned only to mop up minutes. Mo is too slow for the offense we have to play to be competitive. Aberdeen needs to learn to pass more and Garrison needs to never pass, just hand off. My rant for the night.

Nate Oats , lmao. He better pull this out or it would easily be the worst home loss by a top 15 team this season. No way be loses this game.
