118 runs in a row probably don't help us with Singleton.

The winning game plan for this one was to keep it on the ground and away from Florida's offense. We're going to be more conservative on the road in a hostile environment than at home. The next 2 games are at DW Stadium.

leading the nation in interceptions. With a lead and with our defense playing well, it would have been stupid to put the ball in the air. Mullen still managed to get Bumphis 5 or 6 touches so hopefully Singleton realizes that Mullen will get the ball to playmakers.

If Mullen is the salesman I think he is, he spins the 2nd half into a positive.

He says: "Look, I just beat ma-17ing-Florida without throwing a single pass in the 2nd half...I need a legit WR to stretch the field...think of what I could do if I had one of one...we go from barely winning to beating their asses..."

Sure, it's spin and BS..whatever...it could work...an 18 year old would believe it.

Make it happen, Dan.

and putting that above winning a game is not a good way to do business.

I know that he is a good player, but you just can't do that for really, any player. Even if it's Jerry Rice or whoever. The best thing to do is to win, and like someone else said, sell the point that we need to WR's so that we can become more dangerous on offense. That and the fact that we have Tyler Russell who will be our QB in a year or two, so we will shift to more of a passing offense as we continue to gather WR's. Also, Tobias knows how Dan has used Percy Harvin.

And honestly if Dan did that against Florida, I wouldn't be happy about that. It's a little different to do that against Alcorn, but Florida on the road, you have to do whatever it takes to win. We lose this game because we throw a pick or leave too much time on the clock and then who knows? Maybe we don't go to a bowl.

But this has always been the problem with MSU- we always end up with a very limited offense it seems and as a result it has been hard to recruit WR's and QB's in general. I think that will be changing in the very near future, though. Relf is good at what he does, but the truth of the matter is he also severely limits what we can do on offense. His shortcomings prevent us from taking full advantage of guys like Chad Bumphis. That and the fact that our o-line is horrible at pass blocking. The other option is to go with Tyler Russell, but that again would mean forcing the line to play away from their strength and the fact that Tyler is a young QB who is not quite ready yet.

he could take Julio's place at Bama, get max exposure, and (if he's good enough) go pro in 3 years....

regardless, he needs to make a decision soon ...

Just like Jeramie Griffen, Rod Woodson, Alonzo Lawrence, and etc.

It's not like Alabama has ever been a passing juggurnaught either. He also wouldn't have to wait his turn at MSU. Not to mention, his skill set fits our offense better.

Scouts don't care though. If he's a talent, he'll make a name for himself whether it's at UA or UAB... Especially when we aren't talking offenses that aren't particularly pass-heavy.

We just beat Florida in the swamp. We have the possibility of being 8-4 or 9-3 at the end of this season. We are in THE Southeastern Conference I don't give how a 17 how many times we run or pass the ball. With quality wins and a record like we might have come the end of November, that is the best recruiting tools we will ever have. 17'ing Houston can pass the ball 50 times a game and end up in the God forsaken Liberty Bowl. But when it comes down to it an eighteen year old kid wants to have fun. And fun is spelled W-I-N. And that is what is happening here.

1. As far as winning and recruiting- what we're doing now is going to help us more long term with the class next year. Not saying that what we're doing now won't help with the current class, but the next class is where we're really going to see some positive effects.

2. As far as Tobias Singleton- I still think he will come to MSU based on what I have heard. I also know that there is a long way to go until signing day, and nothing is official until those letters of intent come in the fax machine or however they send those things in now. This is the school that Doug Buckles went to after all.
