#12 in the BCS poll

Normally I'd agree... but most of those computers are ******** too. Right now I'm just riding this out and hopefully everything works itself out.

The BCS poll came out in 1998. The highest we were ever ranked in this poll on a single week was #10 on 11/8/1999. Excellent chance to match that with a victory over MTSU. We were last ranked this highly, also #12, on 11/13/2000...
The highest Ole Miss has ever been is #15 on 11/17/03(I believe...chance they were higher on a given week in a year where they ended up being decent at best). They only made the poll in 3 weeks in the 08-09 run: #25 on 12/07/08, 11/22/09, and 10/25/09.

That Alabama week in '99, we were #8 in the human polls. People didn't like our schedule, and we had three come from behind victories at that point over weaker teams that hurt our computer rankings.
In 2000, we were #12 after beating Alabama to move to 7-2 on the season (losses to South Carolina and LSU- in OT). We proceeded to lose to Arkansas and Ole Miss to end the season, and watched two teams that we beat (Auburn and Florida) play for the SEC Championship. It is the only time in the history of the SEC that one team beat both participants in the title game.

Apparently, we have no business being #12 according to the resident Ole Miss fans here at the office. We are just not that good. Tennessee would get beat soundly by the Mighty Rebels of Ole Miss. They win their first SEC game in two years and all of the sudden get cocky. Delusional beyond belief.
It's funny that the Rebels are beating their chest about beating Auburn because they sure did tell us that Auburn wasn't any good after we beat them. The ones I work with talk about how we haven't beaten anyone, yet they beat Central Arkansas, Tulane, UTEP and Auburn.
When I open my mouth about it, they spout off about national titles back in the 60's. Then I talk about baseball and basketball and they walk away.
Yea, those people are also making the case we "barely beat Tennessee" (should have lost... According to them), their schedule is much harder than ours... Which it is, but nothing compared to ours 3 years ago... Also, troy and MTSU have shown they arent pushovers... AND they told me they beat auburn worse than we did. Apparently that means they are way better than us. Got it.

I am starting to think an eggbowl.com website may actaully get a ton of traffic these days. Too bad it wouldn't rid us of that **** here. They'd get all wound up over on the site and then come here talking about it and post links to their battles.
If I was DS and OP4, I'd think about coming together and making an eggbowl subset site just to get some extra income from the traffic. But you're right... it wouldn't relieve any of that **** over here. In fact.. it might make it worse.
