Sounds like it may be awhile before they break ground and didn't give much detail as to what it will look like.

This is an amazing project. I hope the university hires a local Architect to do the design. Hell my firm has 16 or so licensed architects from State, most out of all Mississippi based architectural firms. I would love to work on this project.

But they need to work on either the exterior envelope or their rendering skills. Those images are some back in the day weak sauce i'd expect from a 2nd year student. It's obvious they had a 3d model either in Revit or Sketch-up, they need to send that over to China to get someone to make it looks photo-realistic. That would help greatly in raising money. I know a Chinese renderer that will do a full on rendered 3-4 minute long fly by for super cheap!
So how's the market looking over there? I'm trying to talk the wife into relocating back to Mississippi but I'm a little worried about job opportunities. Probably more of a next year thing but i'm just curious.

I drove over to look and there is no obvious path to that location. The trucks that dumped the dirt there went through the lounge. Surely that's not the plan.

Google needs to send a satelite over campus soon.

Upon reading your post, I went to Google Maps to get a better look at what you're referring to. They still show The Palmeiro Center as a mound of dirt and have Malfunction Junction in full malfunction mode. Those pictures must be at least 6 - 7 years old.</p>

between the palmeiro center and dudy noble that will allow you to navigate to the new football facility. And EAV I agree...their renderings leave a lot to be desired. In my opinion I don't see much wrong with the design I just hope different materials are used than the maroon brick portrayed. I would like to see the brick that has been used on most new additions on campus (ag & bio engineering, union, mccool hall addition, entry signs) used as the brick for this building to continue to try to tie the campus together. HNTB out of Kansas City is the design firm, and have done some impressive work in the pasat so we will see what happens in the final few months of planning.

Where is this supposed to be located, exactly? Also, those images are definitely weak sauce and Google does need to re-visit the Starkville area for Google earth/maps. I believe the last time they got quality images was in '03 or '04. They did one in '07 but the image is grainy as hell. Anyway, its great to get this big gift.

That corner backing up to 82/12 is pretty isolated. Do you squeeze a road between the Palmeiro Center and 12 or a road between the softball field and 82? One of those 2 is the only option unless LFL is the plan.

After looking at it closer, you might... MIGHT... could construct a road between Shira and LFL and tuck it behind the stands for the track. Or hell.. better yet, just plow down the stands for the track...
