Does FCS and D2/3 do that? They might, I'm not sure. I'm just going by basketball, and a self-serving effort to preserve bowls (which is a staple of a bygone era).

But either way, it's doable. Playoff needs to be bigger, that simple fact can't be debated.

Yes, all of the lower divisions of football use home sites until the final.

The bowls are dead. Just expand the regular season to 13 games so that we don't lose football, but have the only postseason be an expanded (I'd go all the way to 24 teams) playoff.
