I am all about playing lights out, but that **** was uncalled for. Then, he was running his mouth as he left the field. If I were his coach, he wouldn't play next week either. </p>

I honestly think he thought the guy had the ball when he tackled him. However, his display after he realized what happened was ridiculous.

...I didn't know you could be ejected for illegal/late hit type of personal foul. Is that a new rule? Or was the ejection due to his post-play reaction?

he shouldn't play next year. That might be the most unnecessary hit I've ever witnessed. Extremely stupid.... so dangerous. Just think if that guy would have gotten seriously hurt.

Kudos to the Ark coach that was chewing his @$$ out as he was dragging him off of the field by his collar. The idiot was actually trying to taunt the crowd on his way out of the stadium.

...If you hit a punt returner like that while he's looking up for the punt, you'll get ejected.

About 7 or 8 years ago I was watching some WAC or Mountain West team where the guy called for a fair catch, was looking up and then just got obliterated... He didn't get up and celebrate, and he was summarily ejected for the same thing.

It appeared like that coach was saying something to the effect of "you are so ignorant", which I would have to completely agree. The hit was bad, but his reaction after the hit was worse.Any normal person afterknowing that an illegalhit was made like that would have been embarrasedand hanging their head, not throwing punchesat thecrowd and talking back to the coach.End of the game they should have him field punts with #17hitting him prior to the catch. Eye for an Eye.

Even if he didn't dance around, he still could have been ejected for leading with his helmet. Flagrant personal fouls are infractions so extreme they could cause catastrophic injury. I'd say #1 accomplished that even without acting like an *** afterward...

I was at the game in JWS's 1st or 2nd year when Michael "Dirty" James leveled the PR for Texas way before the ball got there (and celebrated). That guy was the #1 PR in the nation coming in and didn't do **** after that play.

Anyway, I cheered like crazy that day from the stands, but was a 19-20 year old kid. Now that I'm pushing 40, I agree with most on here with regards to the stupidity of that play by #1 (and would if he played for us).
