make a five-city tour, praising Wilson for the job he's been doing as recruiting coordinator, knowing all along he's going to leave when the price gets driven a little higher.

I wish I knew where his car was parked in Starkville.

today is the shittiest part in my opinion.
This is just perfect timing to be losing a main recruiter of ours. Mullen needs to keep it intact and keep filling these kids heads with win win win and lots of playing time

I never thought Wilson was all that great, and Im not surprised by his latest move.

He is only one coach, and has only been recruiting at MSU for 4 weeks so I doubt it will have much of an effect.

I personally think Steve Campbell is a better coach.

but based on what UT has been offering assistants, I'm betting that Wilson will get paid about as much as your coordinators will, maybe more, just to coach a position. And so you can't really blame him. I'll bet his raise is somewhere in the $100K+ range.

That's what you get when you bring in people of that ilk. He left USM after one year. Ya'll are surprised? He's a mercenary, a hired gun, hired out to the highest bidder. He's from the Orgeron regime at Ole Miss, that bastion of character. The people that had the "plan" that got Oher, Jerry , Strong and Powe in school. That covered up the Oher incident when the little kid got hurt Oher's freshman year. The Dickie Scruggs Mob.

And you are suprised?

That would be surprising. I was thinking that he was probably going to get in the $300K range based on what UT has been shelling out. If he's leaving for $200K, that is a little crappy.

although just because Brewer made Melvin deliver money up there doesn't mean we are making him do it.

Melvin isn't out there for the highest bidder. He has been at State and Ole Miss, is from Miss. Coached HS in Miss.

He had a stop at Bama when he left us, and I can't blame him. He saw it as a step up. He didn't take the job 2 weeks after accepting State's job. He then went with Fran to A &M, then came back here because he hated living so far from home.

People like Wilson are hired guns. Quick fix artists. They are hired to be fixers. They have no qualms about giving their word or handshake and then breaking it. It's called recruiters. Just like O did with LSU, Tommy Tubberville did to ya'll, that guy just did to Bama (and Saban will soon)and now Wilson to us.

My point is, you know what you are getting when you hire these guys. Wilson was talking to Tenn. before taking the State job, and still took the job here. Why? Because it doesn't bother people like that to say one thing and do another. The best recruiters are natural born liars.

I'm not surprised he did it. I know the type.
