With all the bitching threads, you would never know we sweep them.

Let this sink in. If we want to come close to winning our next home series we won't be able to pitch anyone against OM on Tuesday. In Cohen's "most talented team ever" we will have to start "Walk'em Woody" at Trustmark Park.

In the Big Picture

That midweek game against the Bears has meant about ZERO.

No we are not in the best of shape, but we are still in the game, and scrapping.

I'm sorry, I forgot... how many of the 9 players we put in pro ball were pitchers and how many are injured?

Anyone who thought we had a pitching staff that was deep enough to just reload is being a bit unrealistic.

WHO labeled this team Cohen's "most talented team ever"? This is why I can't get in with the Baseball America's of the world. #1, those predictions are based off of "projecting" that players like Woody, Paul Young, Lingo, etc. are going to be amazing. The reality is they can't take into consideration injuries, slumps, necessary growth, whatever. Woody was always going to be a project this year and still is. He may come around still and be dynamite for us- I'm hoping on it. But I'm not basing MY predictions on someone else's projections- they don't even watch most of our games.

#2, this team is taking a carbon copy path to the season as almost every season Cohen's been here. It might not look super pretty right now, but we're a team that learns how to grind it out during the season. Nothing more, nothing less. They're starting to find ways to win now. Personally, I don't want to be peaking in April anyway.

#3, expecting this team to surpass last year's achievements is a little high even just going off of what we graduated last year and not basing it off of projections that may or may not work out.

They're coming around. I don't really see the need to be fatalists when we're 2 games back with a lot of baseball to play. I'm okay with the fact that we're not playing our best ball in April.

Yea, ...

And let this sink in...

With four SEC Series left in the year, we trail only Bama, Florida and LSU in the SEC standings. Plus our remaining slate of ... A&M (7-10); @ Auburn (7-10), UT (6-11) & @ Bama (12-5) features only one winning team.

Meanwhile, Bama plays four winning teams ... @ USCe (9-8), Florida (11-6), @LSU (10-7) & MSU (10-8)

We could be facing Bama for the SEC title ... or not ... its baseball

We will be facing the same pitchers that got beat by Southern Miss.
