His unwaivering homerizim drives me crazy. I feel cheated because I know there are better people out there to do a college football show that wouldn't sacrifice analysis for shameless hype.
I think they did a fantastic job, and they kept me interested in the game. I know the Dave's have been doing SEC sports since back when the local SEC Channel was Jefferson Pilot. They do a good job, and I wish announcers and in game analysts would take a page from the local guys sometimes.
Not that any of ya'll care, but it felt good watching me ride the goalpost down after the 04 game again. Made me feel like i was still in college. I <17>ing wish. I also loved how he called out Jessie Palmer about waking up in the middle of the night hearing cowbells.
He is the biggest ND homer of all time and it's almost hard to watch. When he was asked if we had a chance his answer was "Well, sure, they have a chance but it's worse than me becoming Mr. America". What? Anyway, right after that he did a "The Doctor Is In" segment and a guy asked if ND was fired up to play Boston College like BC is to play ND and instead of answering the question he said something along the lines of "Of course BC is fired up, not everyone gets to play against the famous Fighting Irish. But I'll tell you what, even LESS people get to play FOR the Fighting Irish, and they're the lucky ones."
