1A and 4A playoffs

1A and 4A playoffs drop from 64 to 48 teams. Impacted sports include football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball.

The way it stood was that 64 of the 75 schools would of made the playoffs. They should drop it 32, but there is money to be made ... Mo' teams mean mo' money.

I'm guessing with 48 teams in the playoffs, that the top four teams in the east and west get a bye in the first round

You've still got subdividing in football, 24 teams each in the 'A' and 'AA' brackets. most likely, conference champs gets first around byes. I still wonder if well see this "regional criss cross (West, Midwest, Mideast, East) mess" like this past season?

I wish there was no East West etc

End of the day the two best teams should play in state championship. Just because the best 5 teams are in one area shouldn't mean they are forced to fight to the death and in the process wear down there own team.

Cape fear-Dudley game prime example as well as page Mallard creek etc. last years state championship should have been catholic and Dudley
