Robbinsville is a great little place (little is not intended to be put down, rather a complement), and I am sure everyone of their players are really good people.
I just do not understand the jerks that would put that crap on line.

From multiple well sourced people it appears to be true. No, not 10-15 kids like was posited earlier this week but it seems to be 6-7 kids and most of those appear to be starters, a few of those arguably their best handful of players.

Ive been told the same thing this morning. It's hard to believe. Second in conference probably the best coaching staff in our conference. Good seed going into the playoffs and fixing to play a rival on Friday. Good luck to the kids that are still battling for the team. Hope you win state!

Dee is not a babysitter and never will be. Multiple state championships, many SMC championships and probably well over 100 wins in the last 10 yrs. Dee's not the problem but mommy's and daddy's with spoiled brats

I called it before the season started and some of their fans said I was crazy. They have been below average on the offensive line for a few years now and rode the backs of some stallions to a lot of wins. Those stallions are now gone and it’s crumbling. I never thought they would quit but knew it would be a losing season.

Murphy is pretty good defensively this year but the 'Dogs are nowhere near what they typically put out offensively. The lack of a reliable passing attack and being young at RB will hurt Murphy as they get into the latter rounds of the playoffs.

Having said all that I do think Murphy is primed to be a legitimate contender next season if Bain is ready to win the QB job next summer. They bring back just about everybody, have a really talented JV group coming up and Clem should be more consistent and improved at RB with another year under his belt.

I myself played for Dee and some days I wanted to tell him to shove it! The outcome of his hard truths made myself and teammates better and play harder! If I was able to play for him right now I would without a doubt (about 2 plays is all I am good for, one of which needs to be a qb kneel). Kids nowadays look for excuses when it gets hard or uncomfortable!

If it is an Rville/Tville game I wouldn't count it for Rville yet. I think that will be a better game than most give credit. Either team can win that game just depends on how each matches up or does not match up. If Rville has lost that many starters to quitting they may not be able to beat those Dogs. Athletically Tville is a much better matchup for CC.

I agree with you 100%. Even this years SMC champ wouldnt finish top 3 most years. But the dawgs are young and will only get better. Just always been a huge fan of the SMC. Hate to see it like this.

I’ll guarantee one thing, a lot of teams would hate to see Robbinsville in 1A pulling from 614 kids! I can’t imagine seeing 70-80 kids on that sideline!

Robbinsville may have won some titles when 1a had fewer teams but some of those Robbinsville teams beat or went head to head with the eventual 2a State Champion from the SMC and I can assure you those Sylva, Swain and Murphy teams were the real deal.

Being a small 1a school and winning a state championship in small 1a is like being a big 1a school winning a big 1a championship, now if Mt Airy beat Reidsville then Reidsville went on to win it all in 2a "if there was still small 2a", that would be like Robbinsville winning it all in consolidated 1a which im pretty sure they've done before they have like 15 state championships.
