all the loud music, all the time ? I can see before the game, between quarters, etc. but before kickoffs, after plays, before plays, jeeze all mighty it is overkill. Who does one complain to about the over use of this loud bombastic music ?
+1 or +2 - I forget.all the loud music, all the time ? I can see before the game, between quarters, etc. but before kickoffs, after plays, before plays, jeeze all mighty it is overkill. Who does one complain to about the over use of this loud bombastic music ?
Yeah I have been to NFL games, this is all part of the hip hop culture. Don't have hearing aids, but like the old softball umpire, turn yours down so you can see better !I take it you've never been to an NFL game. If it's too loud you can always turn down your hearing aids.
Good one ! Yuk, Yuk, YukDidn't notice any complaints from the other 628 fans.
Commonwealth is a joke when it comes to atmosphere....all the loud music, all the time ? I can see before the game, between quarters, etc. but before kickoffs, after plays, before plays, jeeze all mighty it is overkill. Who does one complain to about the over use of this loud bombastic music ?

I absolutely hate the rapcrap and rock played at both UK and UL. WTF, it's a college football game not a campus bar. I complained in writing to the UL ticket office and got a letter back saying; times have changed. It got so bad I just cancelled my season tickets and go to a few games a year. I simply cannot listen to that garbage blaring in my ears for 3 plus hours. rant over.
Ohio State - Michigan - Michigan State to name 3 still let the Band ACTUALLY PLAY during the game, without the rapcrap/rock blaring through the PA system. It "ain't" college football w/o the Band. Yep, Old School and proud of it.
my man, UT and Nebraska are 2 of the 5-7 best programs ever. they have sold out or near sell outs every game. we have 20,000 there and 15k of them got free tickets. big difference in how much noise they will be making. when we are good or at least when we aren't down right embarrassing our crowd cheers with the best of themI am new and read this post. I watched the Nebraska game last night. The noise level was amazing but it was the CROWD noise. They don't seem to need the piped in crap. Tennessee is the same way. The crowd is intense and football savvy. They know when to amp up the noise level. I find audience participation much more fitting a college atmosphere than all the artificial noise pumped in by a PA system. Go Cats!
I suggest you stop going to d1 college games and definitely don't go to NFL games. The music isn't for you. It's for the players/students/recruits. The people who matter lol
The band plays many times throughout the game. But rap and rock are what these kids listen to. And like it or not, this is their time. They should play the music that appeals to the student athletes. That is one of the many problems with our program. Too many involved that think it is about them. It is about the players on the field, not you or anyone else who doesn't like the music. Play what the kids want to ear. Whatever keeps them excited, play it as long as it still promotes a positive atmosphere.Right just forget the over 40-50 crowd who fund the damn program thru season ticket sales. fyi- I can still go to D1 games and NOT hear that, many many examples. Why have a band if they are not permitted to play?
We ain't get much bang for our buck if it is for the student athletes at UK, the last Oh, 2 or 3 decades !The band plays many times throughout the game. Check this out from an Alabama home game a couple of years ago.
Go to a game at any other real football school and it's the same. It's good UK is finally attempting to make a major college football atmosphere and learning how to properly use the video boards and sound systems to help establish that.
Went to Auburn yesterday and something they did that I really liked was a "Tigers in the nfl" montage between a quarter where they showed highlights from their nfl guys games the previous week while the stats were being read off.
I wasn't sure. I'm an out of state-er I'm getting to attend my first game this coming week since I was a student before the renovations. Wish the product was better but still pretty excited to see the new digs.Kentucky has shown the "players in the NFL" for at least a few years now. It's not exactly like Auburn's (and maybe not as good), but they show the NFL players on the video board before the game. Cobb is always last and gets the loudest cheers. Seeing some highlights from their games would be pretty cool to add.
This.I went to game 1 - seemed like the choices were awful. We have a ton of country boys n girls -- play some of todays 1/2 *** country that everyone loves . another but hip hop ..
This.
When I hear that one song about driving the truck with the girl to the crick and drinkin a bud and boy ain't it great to be a good ole country boy I mean look I'm wearing a hat and saw a tractor once, hoo boy!
I'm ready to run through a wall.
In all seriousness, I love country music (but not bro country, which is a blight on all civilization), but I understand why they don't really play it at football games.Fail , you forgot to kick the dog . ( Imagine me giving you cool gang symbols with my nearly 50 old year old fingers )
