We may lose.
Value is on us and ML.
This is a coin flip game because it's a Mizzou. We are the better team

I'd much rather have a noon kick-off on the road than a night game or late afternoon game on the road.
Against P5 competition he is 72-151 (48%), 5 td, 6 int and 236 passing yards per game.
Considering 3 of those tds and 376 passing yards came against a georgia team that is in the bottom 3rd of passing defense, and I'd say that lock is actually a poor QB that has racked up stats against really bad defenses
Last time we played there we lost 20-10. Kickoff was 4:00 pm. It was a tortuous game to watch. UK was bad. Really bad.
So, based upon that alone, give me a noon start.
Hate noon kickoffs
Why? Noon kickoffs are the best option for road games.
Have to start drinking at 7am then again after the game, lights out at 8pm :weary::cheers2:
Thank you. I will take that as a "backhanded compliment".I don't post often, but I have been reading this board for years. WildCard always works a backhanded complement or some little dig at UK in a lot of his posts. He posts on almost every thread I read. While some of what he says may be true, I don't like hearing from a fan of our rival. I still welcome his posts, but I understand how he can irritate some of our fans...me included.
You got me, johnny! I deserve that. I will let is stand for further ridicule. Damn apostrophes. You're a good poster as rival fans go, but "your's" in a post criticizing someone else's grasp of the language? Tsk, tsk.
Thank you. I wish I was as crafty as some say.WildCard is one of the better posters on this board. TS.
I doubt that it's anything more than a case of Vegas using the computer rankings as a baseline- and the Sagarins would actually have Mizzou as about a 6 point favorite. I usually think that these types of ratings are pretty close to the mark, but not in this case. That's a scary line. Looks to me like the are begging people to bet the Cats and that's not usually a good sign. I think it comes down to how we respond on the road. First "winnable" road game of the year and I just hope Vegas is not on to something.
Not as good as Hurts either. He has great potential, but, at this point, he's nowhere near close to Dobbs or Kelly.
I have no confidence in our ability to stop a decent passing game. Like the final 2 drives against poor offenses Vandy & State when they had to pass ...we get absolutely no pass rush and they blow down the field.
Hopefully we control the ball...play clean and get some breaks. MTSU QB just picked them apart with timing passes.
I hope for best but think our defense will get exposed against a team that can run and throw
What is our modern day record when kickoff is at noon in the central time zone ?
Why would the refs cheat on behalf of Mizzou? Mizzou has a very difficult path to a bowl game, even with a win. The SEC is going to want to fill those spots and right now, it's not going to be easy. UK is in better position to go to a bowl with a win- if that happens, UK is in, and Mizzou is out. If Mizzou wins, chances are good that both teams are out.Point spread is damn close 90% of the time. UK will lose this game. The refs will be hard at work. Look for pass interference called 5+ times when the tigers throw and offensive holding on UK on every big run.
They won't be deflated. They will approach this game as a game they can and should win. Imo , we play flat. They will be pumped .Even if it were to wind up UK-4.5, we still have to go there and win. Maybe we go there and cruise against a deflated team. But I expect another game that goes down to the wire.
I am pretty sure they do not. I think all "power polls" (i.e., mathematical determinations of the anticipated "points difference" are determined by cumulative results and do not include a "streak factor". Given the weekly disparity in strength of opposition I'm not sure how you would quantify such.Several have mentioned Sagarin pegging Mizzou as a 5.5-6 point favorite and I've seen that as well. Does that system account for recency at all, does anyone know? It may be blue-tinted glasses but I feel like our play the past 4 games (yes, including Alabama) has been a marked improvement compared with the first three. I admit not to knowing much about Mizzou's trend, aside from losing the last game at home to MTSU.
It is one thing to offer an opinion and another thing to put your money where your mouth is. [laughing]Athlon, Gridiron and now CBS Sports are all predicting a Cats win. Take that Vegas.
For what little it's worth, 4 of the 5 ESPN CFB analysts have picked UK over Mizzou. All five predict a margin of seven points or less.Athlon, Gridiron and now CBS Sports are all predicting a Cats win. Take that Vegas.
We sat with former cat Mike Deacon at that game and yes you are right it was ugly!Last time we played there we lost 20-10. Kickoff was 4:00 pm. It was a tortuous game to watch. UK was bad. Really bad.
So, based upon that alone, give me a noon start.
IF we play flat with all that is at stake for UK then things are we worse than I thought with MS and this program...Sat is a big statement game for the staff and players. They won't be deflated. They will approach this game as a game they can and should win. Imo , we play flat. They will be pumped .
Brother, if you're kickin' off on the moon you my friend are way ahead on the drinking schedule!:joy:
I was like, why on earth would he hate the moon kickoff? Didn't stop to think that it messed up people drinking schedules.
Brother, if you're kickin' off on the moon you my friend are way ahead on the drinking schedule!
Yeah, but it would be tough on the passing game. Every pass would float.I mean come on man...kicking on the moon would improve hang time, and give our coverage team waaaay more time to get into position to prevent any returns at all. The moon kickoff is a no brainer!

For me the difference is our trends. Ours is up, theirs is down. If we played our midmajor again, we would win. If they played MTSU again the same result is likely.I doubt that it's anything more than a case of Vegas using the computer rankings as a baseline- and the Sagarins would actually have Mizzou as about a 6 point favorite. I usually think that these types of ratings are pretty close to the mark, but not in this case.
However, this game is anything but a slam dunk and a home game against Georgia may actually be more winnable. We are playing better than Mizzou lately, but, overall, we've had similar results in similar games. Mizzou has played three good teams on the road, and was crushed by two of them, and beaten pretty soundly (though not really crushed) in the other; we've played two good teams on the road, and were crushed in both. They lost to a midmajor at home; so did we. They clobbered their two cupcakes; we clobbered ours, albeit after a scare. Our big advantage is that we played 3 mediocre SEC teams at home, and won all three; they played one (Georgia) and lost, though the scores were close in all of the games, and Georgia is overall a bit better than the teams we played. So, while I am optimistic that we can win, I'm not surprised that we are underdogs, and I won't be surprised if we lose.
It will be interesting to see if you're correct since they have nothing to be pumped about. They just suffered a demoralizing loss which took their season from circling the drain to firmly in the drain. They have been decimated by injuries and have little to play for. I expect them to put up a fight but pumped? I highly doubt it.They won't be deflated. They will approach this game as a game they can and should win. Imo , we play flat. They will be pumped .
Yeah, but it would be tough on the passing game. Every pass would float.
I saw that. Six is still the most common number. Most books opened their line at +3.5 and now moved to +6. Pretty hard to figure (at least for me). I can only conclude that the line makers are more impressed with Mizzou's losses (Sagarin SOS #34) than UK's wins (Sagarin SOS #58). But if I were betting I still like those 6 1/2 points.Line now at 6.5 at some places
That is a 3.5 pt swing in three days in favor of a team coming off a embarrassing home loss and losing two of their defensive starters.
I would say this doesn't look good for the Cats.
