A midweek game against Alcorn State is, in fact, a freebie. But it destroys your early RPI.
Btw, the cumulative score of our 3 midweeks thus far is 48 to 10.
I watched a good bit of that game. When I turned it off they had 5 hit batters 6 walks and multiple passed balls. As their broadcast guy said, they looked sloppier than a 3 year old eating spaghetti.
We usually fare pretty well vs the Tiggahs. Especially at their place. This weekend will tell me if we are the real deal. Even if we go 0-3, but only lose by 1-2 runs, it will show we are competitive against the nation's best. Personally, I think we go 2-1 and hope for 3-0.
Don't think our pitching can go 3-0 against these three teams. Hitting can probably do it, but we will have to out slug everybody this weekend.
I know we're Mississippi State fans, but even I can see that this team is clearly going to be competitive with the best teams in the country. It's just going to be a matter of getting W's, not just competing well.
