Was reading the article on BDJ of Jackie talking about Auburn and they mention that game. One of the most dominating defensive performances against a great running back I have ever seen. With the weather like it was as well, made for a pretty awesome win.

Loved at the end Rudy would be tackled for a loss or short game and the "Rudy" chants began echoing from the State fans. Awesome stuff

about the two defensive lines. The last time we had two lines that rotated we were pretty dang good.

who said the msu game was going to be his "breakout game of the season". i think his name may have been daniels - he had a great year the year before.

after the game, someone asked smoot about the receiver's pre-game comment. smoot said "he had 2 catches... what did he break out with, a rash?"

Although I always remembered (possibly misremembered) it as.."The only thing I saw that boy break out in was a rash." I'm sure I could have been confused as to how he worded it since I was in middle school when it happened. Either way, great, great quote.

he also used something like that with Jabar Gaffney from Florida saying "he caught a pass? I didn't think he could catch a cold?"

and after Smoot snatched a ball away from him or some he said "How do you say 'Oops!' in Japanese?" Or something like that.

but I remember some douchebag for Vandy writing an article about how superior that Vandy was to MSU academically in 1999 because we had all of those JUCO players.

Smoot told one of their receivers "If I let you catch a pass, will you do my homework?"
