We also have Howard on the 10th.

We can be 6-6 and make a bowl with that schedule. Realistic win possibilites vs. Howard, New Mexico, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, and Maryland. Pull off another upset, and we're 7-5 and its a great season. Just need the right coach.

I love the optimism but honestly you don't have the athletes. Some of the kids who were on the field today were seriously undersized. In the second half Maryland began to manhandle us on both sides of the ball. Unless recruiting improves this program will be in very serious trouble.

Not trying to be funny but I felt that Don Bosco's 2003 team would have given us a game today. What the heck was the point of accepting an invite to the B10 if we were not willing to invest in the program.

Only at rutgers would you see such optimism after a game like today.
Who the hell is going to replace Carroo? Who is going to be the QB?
Looks like a three win season.

Look what Harbaugh did at Michigan this year. As I said, the RIGHT coach and we're 6-6. It's not hard to beat those teams I listed.

Wouldn't call 6-6 optimism...Its 2 wins more than we have this year. New Mexico and Howard are wins. We've proven that we can beat Indiana. Maryland seems to be a tossup. We have more talent than Illinois. Minnesota isn't world beaters.

Flood is such a horrible coach...why can't we get two more wins with most of our defense and some of our offense coming back with a very good coach?

Right coach can win 8, maybe 9. Flood back? 4 wins or less.

Why can't we get 2 more wins with most of our defense and MOST of our offense coming back WITH THE SAME COACHES THAT WE HAVE. Don't you think that our opponents will be losing quite a few seniors off their 2 deep and we won't. You probably think that our players won't be any more mature physically and not any more versed on techniques and schemes then they are right now.

Look at Michigan's Roster. I think Harbaugh walked into a much better situation. Is 6-6 possible absolutely, but I honestly and genuinely believe that some of the kids on this roster are not true D1A caliber athletes. JMHO.

I think we will be better next year with or without Flood....but we'll be more improved with a new coaching staff. Don't think this staff will cut it.

Fair enough....we played well vs. Michigan State though. That game proved that we had the athletes. We just need the consistency..and that comes with coaching.

Comparing to the 2015 schedule:
9-3-2016 Rutgers vs. Washington Seattle, WA Husky Stadium (equal to WSU)
9-10-2016 Rutgers vs. Howard Piscataway, NJ High Point Solutions Stadium (similar to the 2015 FCS)
9-17-2016 Rutgers vs. New Mexico Piscataway, NJ High Point Solutions Stadium (Similar to Army / Kansas)
9-24-2016 Rutgers vs. Iowa Piscataway, NJ High Point Solutions Stadium (similar to Wisconsin)
10-1-2016 Rutgers vs. Ohio State Columbus, OH Ohio Stadium (equal to Tosu this year)
10-8-2016 Rutgers vs. Michigan Piscataway, NJ High Point Solutions Stadium (equal to Mich this year)
10-15-2016 Rutgers vs. Illinois Piscataway, NJ High Point Solutions Stadium (worse then Nebraska)
10-22-2016 Rutgers vs. Minnesota Minneapolis, MN TCF Bank Stadium (better than Army / Kansas)
11-5-2016 Rutgers vs. Indiana Piscataway, NJ High Point Solutions Stadium (equal to Indiana this year)
11-12-2016 Rutgers vs. Michigan State East Lansing, MI Spartan Stadium (equal to Mich St this year)
11- 19-2016 Rutgers vs. Penn State Piscataway, NJ High Point Solutions Stadium (equal to PSU this year)
11-26-2016 Rutgers vs. Maryland College Park, MD Byrd Stadium (equal to MD this year)

I am guessing we are anywhere from a 3 win to 7 win team next year
Potential wins (8) - Washington, Howard, New Mexico, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, Maryland, Penn St

Yes, watching New Mexico right now trashing a good Air Force team, if they win they go 7-5.
They will beat an Elmer Fudd coached RU team next September at HPSS.

LOL at some people looking at next year's schedule and saying we're a bowl team. I guess the offseason "talent and depth" brigade is off to their fastest start yet...what's the over/under on when the rhetoric switches back to "youth/inexperience/injuries"? Week 6?

We were 1 win away from being a bowl team this season...tell me why we can't be a bowl team next year with an upgrade at coach, our secondary a year older, our best player on defense healthy, most of our offense and defense coming back, and arguably an easier schedule? Why is that funny? Its very realistic.

Fair enough.

This season had disaster written all over, from the arrests, to the Flood suspension, to the injuries, etc.

Again, IF we upgrade at coach, we CAN be 6-6...that's all I've said, and no denying it. (Heck, we SHOULD be better even with Flood at coach).
