Tuesday's matchup features the battle of Amherst...Two state title teams separated by nine years. Which team was the better Amherst team?

Both these Amherst teams squeaked by Salem in the final of Region III Division 4, the '95 game being an overtime affair. I went with the '06 squad as being the better one, by a hair.

Of the 3 Amherst title teams I think the '07 team was the best, followed closely by the '06 squad. The '95 team wasn't quite as good as the repeat champions in '06 & '07. The '08 & '09 Amherst teams that lost to Broad Run were better than the '95 team too imo.

It was good to see Amherst & Pulaski back in the playoffs and being more competitive than they have been in a few years. I hope the RRD will return to their normal level of competitiveness in football. It may not happen until Carroll Co leaves the district after next year.
