I would say not so much on the all state team picked by NC Preps. Often those "stars" may be for potential but they are usually pretty good footballers.
I have the potential 2 grow wings n fly but we all know I can't. Not even including kids from our team I can name 2. Emmanuel Wilson n kalen Allen from NM m MC....both offensive n defensive players of the year in the i meck no where....not a all mention not a peep. But I forgot last year jake Lawler from south meck was all state n he barely played half the season.
We are talking about the 2016 NCPreps 4A All State team? Correct? Lawler did not make that all state team. He may have made one, but it was not the NCPreps version. The LBers from Charlotte were Ben Norris and Christian Dixon.
There are several teams from various outlets, some are better than others.
He was pre season all state that year. There are kids on here with absolutely no ranking. You going to have hard time convincing me that those 2 RBs are not the best in NC period!
Now RBs u have me on that one but i would argue with u on lbs. Mrs king does a great job but a lot of these recruiting sites esp rivals only focus on stars n offers n i think it' not fair for kids that legitimately play their heart out dont' get publication because their stars isnt high or don't have Alabama behind their name as interests. Combination of a site or 2 would give them a little shine that could help them get a decent offer or 2?
The linebackers on the 2016 NCPreps 4A All State team were Norris, Dixon, Alan Tisdale from Page, and Darius Hodge from Wake Forest. No way I can think one of those four were not absolutely deserving!
Norris brought the Myers Park defense to another level. Smart and aggressive. Clogged and covered.
Dixon at Butler was a special player and was the MVP in the Shrine Bowl.
Tisdale was a junior and leader of an impressive Page defense.
Hodge was the best defensive player I saw play in 2016! Period.

of the kids I have seen I would have issues with only 2 who made it. I could make an arguement for as many as 2 dozen other kids who didnt make it but there are only 2 head scratchers on that list. That pretty solid.
At LB I saw Wilson play as a junior and Hollifield play every season. They are are both all state caliber players regardless of their stars. I personally thought Wilson was the best but Hollifield got a lot of the publicity. Does Willoughby, from 1AA state champion Tarboro, have any stars?
Best DB I saw play was Malik Dunalop from Harding. Beast. Three star.
Miles Simon, state 2AA champion Hibriten, does it all on both sides of the ball. Was impressed.
QB and two RBs are no brainers.
Wideout are all big time players.
Javonte Williams, 1A state champion Wallace Rose Hill, would be in the mix to make the team at on both sides of the ball.

Oh I have issues with a few n one of them is the most overrated player in the class' but it's not his fault hes jus a kid it comes back 2 what I said earlier. Most of these recruiting experts don' like football they jus like offers n stars.
I have yet to see an All State Team, that satisfy's everyone...LOL!

You do an Outstanding job. I don't believe people have an understanding of how much you actually do. You're much appreciated!I do give props 2 nc preps n Deanna because she does do a great job on the site n her Twitter giving coverage 2 all kids in nc. The major publications can give a damn how good u played or did. If ur not recruited by Michigan or Ohio st...ur nobody. I've went 2 camps n seen no rated kids handle 4/5 stars n out of 6 reps the highly rated player might have won 1 n that highlight is shown in a loop with the caption "4/5 player out here at such n such camp dominating the competition all day!!". They must had another camp somewhere because we didn' see that smh

Mine as well. I thought Kalen's game against Harding was just as about as good as it gets . Not only was he busting Crouch but he was side to side chasing down the waterbugs. Bet he made 25 tackles that game.
