The kid wasn't a great passer, he never could understand you didn't throw a kick slant with the same velocity you threw it 75 yards downfield, ran the veer and he run it well. All the DBs we played knew he could throw it that far and had to respect it and he was fast to.
My last college intermural team was stacked, all PE and Rec majors, our qp was Rick Camp who had a FB scholarship to Carson Newman but chose baseball, several good athletes that didn't play college ball, Clemson's offensive MVP who ran out of eligibility, a WR who was fast as all get out, and the back was a track guy, all state football player but small guy, ran a 4.3 back in the late 60's, early 70's. We played one team in the playoffs, 3 guys had him hemmed up in the endzone for a safety, he yes time out and gives the T signal, they look at the ref and in unison say, HE CANT DO THAT, As soon as they broke concentration on him, he was gone, pretty funny at the time, other team wanted to fight, we helped them out. We had a former FSU player and GT on our team. Another guy talked himself into a tryout with the Falcons as punt returner, he was older, been in the military and a touch off. Fun times.
