I know the 2017 class will be small but does anyone know around how many CMS can take?
Even with the smaller class it may be one of the best ones yet! Great job by this staff going and getting some of the best!

I think we end up signing exactly 20 this year. Just freed up another 2 scholarships with TV and Larubbio leaving. Wouldnt be shocked to see someone else leave over the summer then there always will be attrition after the 2016 season before signing day. 20 is my guess which would be a great number for this class.

At this point I'd say 18-19 but in certain circumstances maybe 20. However the 2018 class will be huge and that is where we could really start getting big time players.

Who are our dream scenario remaining recruits? Beside Wills
I'd say Wills, pick one of the following(Eze, Bateman, Gray, Sichterman), Dj Edawrds, Caleb Rozar, Brian Edwards, Javon Provitt, Joshua Paschal, MJ Webb

With the state of the art training facility things are only going to get better! However a bowl game this year is a MUST!

12 commits currently - let's say they take 6 more:

How would this look to finish?

Wills
Munford
Provitt
Paschal
Bentley
Brian Edwards

Admittedly, I have no idea where the total scholly numbers are, and, although I've read all 6 of the above players have or have had significant interest in the Cats at some point.

Chase Monroe is #1 on the board at mlber. I'd like to get him. 17 is the # I have heard. 8 scholarship sr's plus some Jr early grads means not much more

I would nut if we got wills gray and Webb

If you are talking about the kids from Georgia, Gray has a top 3 of CU, AU and UGA with UT just behind and it's South Carolina and AU leading for Webb. We were on Gray early and led big, but for whatever reason things cool, he visited for spring game and had great time but he is involved heavily with several school down here , Webb inspite of being 40 miles from campus has never shown us much interest AU and South Carolina are in on him pretty good right now. Both are good players.

I would be surprised if Wills went anywhere but UK.

Webb already has visited us twice now and has us in the top 2 with Auburn. It might be an uphill battle but maybe???

That could be true, but its not what he is saying down here, AU and USC is what he is telling our guys and the other kids. I think USC could be in for another tough year so that might not last. AU recruits pretty well, and if a kid takes a visit to AU late, they take trips out too booster's farms and close very well.

Could also be true. I'm just going off the information I've seen. According to that info its AU, UK, in front and USC a close third.

I know man and its cool. These kids are getting to where they just say anything to reporters so they can have some suspense when they announce. Last year was particulary bad with some of our guys. We had kids saying we led, up until they announced Bama and kids saying Bama or whoever led, until they announced us. We have created a monster with this recruiting deal and kids are eating it up. How many times have you seen them say, "showing me some love", that gets a chuckle out of me everytime. The elite kids can get away with doing all this suspense things, but others take their time and their spot fills and they don't get to attend where they wanted to by playing the recruiting game.

This is a little off topic, but recruiting. I had a kid one time who was being recruited by Hawaii, his parents were afraid of flying and I was going to go with him. But Hawaii wanted him to commit before he visited and he wouldn't do it. I wasn't thrilled with him, but it was his career and choice. Ended up going to Maryland, played some arena ball afterwards. All world talent from neck down, scout team from neck up. Took him to a qb camp as a rising frosh, threw the football 78 yards, tops at that camp.

Makes sense. One of my friends at my HS was extremely talented ran a 4.3 and had a really good first step. Anyways he was recruited by UK and some other P5 schools but didn't have the ACT score for any of them. I know UK really wanted him to commit but he couldn't be eligible so he ended up at EKU (where anyone can be eligible practically)

I guess a JUCO DT in addition to Provitt. A 3rd OT besides Dotson & Wills & not Bentley unless he at least projects to RT.

That must have been an awesome pass to see. The flattest pass I ever saw anyone throw was George Mira from Miami against UK in the 60s, he threw it about forty yards and it never dropped over 4' in forty yards------there was an article in the Lexington Herald before the game saying his receivers dropped a lot of his passes because he threw it so hard.

But the longest pass I ever saw was just over my head------DB in a flag football league I started in Las Vegas, I thought it was over 90 yards in an earlier story (sorry about that) but recently remembered that the City shortened theflag field from four 20 yard lines (standard Flag field) to four 18 yard segments in order to fit the field in the park. Anyway last play of the game leading 12-6 their QB reversed his field two or three times from his 20 until he was about two yards behind their goal line (verified by teammates) and I wasn't letting the receiver behind me until I was on our 20------60 yards from the QB-----and I stopped running, come on now. When he threw the ball I was like "Oh my God" and got on my horse, covered 20 yards while it was in the air and jumped at my goal line and missed it by about an inch. The receiver was about five yards deep in the end zone and thought I had it, so the ball bounced off his chest. I figured 2 yards, 72 yards, 5 yards, and 4 more after hitting him before it hit the ground made it over 80 yards in the air easily.

Sorry if I bored anyone but an incredible thing to see------and a TRUE story, every word. So while some may doubt your story I want to say I know it is entirely possible from personal experience. The guy was about 6' 1" 220#, name of Herman Scofield, always wondered if and where he played ball, would probably have had to be a Grambling etc in that day, his college days would have been about late fifties.

The kid wasn't a great passer, he never could understand you didn't throw a kick slant with the same velocity you threw it 75 yards downfield, ran the veer and he run it well. All the DBs we played knew he could throw it that far and had to respect it and he was fast to.

My last college intermural team was stacked, all PE and Rec majors, our qp was Rick Camp who had a FB scholarship to Carson Newman but chose baseball, several good athletes that didn't play college ball, Clemson's offensive MVP who ran out of eligibility, a WR who was fast as all get out, and the back was a track guy, all state football player but small guy, ran a 4.3 back in the late 60's, early 70's. We played one team in the playoffs, 3 guys had him hemmed up in the endzone for a safety, he yes time out and gives the T signal, they look at the ref and in unison say, HE CANT DO THAT, As soon as they broke concentration on him, he was gone, pretty funny at the time, other team wanted to fight, we helped them out. We had a former FSU player and GT on our team. Another guy talked himself into a tryout with the Falcons as punt returner, he was older, been in the military and a touch off. Fun times.

Is that the same Rick Camp who pitched for the Braves?

We will most likely lose a few more players, expecially at WR and OL when the rotation shakes out either this summer of after next season. I predict we sign 21-24 depending on total number of departures. With the way we are recruiting and the chance to add to OUR BEST CLASS Ever...we will TRY to get to a bowl and then put the cherries on TOP!
However, if we do not get to a bowl we may lose a couple current commits and lose momentum and sign less.

just to take 17 we have to have 5 more spots open up. this class is gonna be small. every coach interview that i've read about this class has said they expect it to be small. I expect attrition but we aren't going to sign over 17 or 18.

Kentucky's senior class is very small this year. How many Stoops can take in his 2017 class now depends entirely on roster attrition. There are already more 2017 verbals than Stoops can accommodate based on current roster numbers.
