While Maxey might be better for us throughout the season, I'd rather have Quade in a tight game in March...

THAT'S what we've been missing!!!
We miss that this march but have had that every other March, people have short memories. Last season we had Briscoe as a returning starter as well as Willis who started several games, Hawkins, Mulder, and Haumphries. The year before that we had a soph Ullis, a senior Poythress, jrs. Lee, Willis , and Hawkins. If you go back and look at the rosters , this and 2013 are the only years we had that issue not every year.

So, what, you think he's not a winner because of one game?

Maybe he folded because he was a freshman!

You ever thought of that?
I think that Quade's lack of production during the post season had to do with the rise of SGA play and his physical limitations. Guys are just taller or stronger, it would of helped Quade if he was quick but he isn't. His last shot for the cats came with 18ticks down 2 points...so what does he do, gets the ball with 14 ticks and takes an off balanced double covered airball three pointer. The last shot given time, score, and possession. That was hero ball when he hadn't hit anything for several minutes, when he could of reversed the ball and got it to a wide open Knox, or ...Quade lost his starting spot, never to get it back. People see Quade and think fondly of Ulis cause of size, he thought he was OAD, but he is no Ulis, kid can shoot when open...but he let his physical measurements limit him, while ulisdid opposite. If Quade competes and Cal gives him starting spot because it was earned and won. Nothing is given...you come to UK to win national championship not build fond memories.

Again...I don't think of Ulis AT ALL when I see Quade.

I don't think that he's more than what he is, but I think that you're under selling him a bit.

Yes, he took a bad shot in the last game and didn't play well, but overall, he had a good season and was one of our most reliable shooters.

There were games when his shooting kept us in the game when nobody else could buy a shot, and he would DEFINITELY make free throws with the game on the line!!

A steady role playing guard with a season under his belt is EXACTLY what we need next year IMO.

My opinion...

who should we be optimistic about here? Hurt and Carey seem on the rise for UK so should we get excited about them or are they too far gone? Wiseman, Maxey heavy leans? And what’s up with Lewis and Antoine?
Jeffries and Hagans are already committed to us for 2019. Although Hagans may reclassify forward to 2018, that won’t get clarified until August. IMO Maxey and Wiseman are strong 2019 UK leans who will sign in UK’s 2019 class but will not reclassify. Hurt, Carey, Antoine, Lewis, Brooks are 5 other names to watch for our 2019 class although I don’t get the impression UK currently leads for any of them.

When season was in the balance, well we know what happened. Yes, I would love for Quade to start at the point, IF and only if he beats out any of the players competing for it. If we get Maxey and both he and Hagan's reclassify, it will be a dogfight to be the lead guard.its up for grab with IQ, AH, QG and tM. Then shooting guard add TH and JB to competition. If Quade fears a logjam or lack of minutes and doesn't want to compete it out, I, personally, wouldn't wAnt a player that felt entitled to a spot...one which he already lost out on.just my opinion. Would love some experience, winning experience, not entitled loser type. Quade will hold his own. Will only improve if he hasn't reached his ceiling already

I didn't say that he should start...

I just feel comfortable that he COULD be, "could" be the difference in a close game when it counts.

He won 4 state titles in HS, so I like the odds of him performing well when it counts long term.

HS and college are 2 totally different games, so you're telling me Bc he won in HS you trust him when it counts? He showed You what he does when it counts, folds like a lawn chair.

He folded bc it's not in his blood to hit those shots, ever think of that? Plenty of freshmen play well under pressure, he folded! Give me Maxey 100 times out of 100 times over Quade.

It's really nice to be able to have this discussion...

Much better than sweating out a grad transfer from Oral Roberts or wherever you'll scrape your roster from...

No chance .

Qaude can hold his own against any gaurd on the team, or in high school. The dude won four straight high school titles and is the type of player you gotta have to win final fours..

That shows your BB IQ because you are going by rankings and not an eye test. Maxey is right there with Wall on talent. Sorry if you can't see that. And you might want to go back and watch some videos of Harrow out of hs. He's way better than Quade in every facet of the game.
No reason to slam I agree I want Green over Maxey as well and its his damn opinion just like yours. You can disagree you dont have to be an *** about it.
