Thanks for the info, EPJr. Do you (or does anyone else) happen to know how many schools in the state participate in field hockey and boys volleyball? I didn’t even realize those existed in Virginia until a few years ago. My mother played field hockey at Tazewell in the ‘40s, but until fairly recently I thought it had disappeared completely long ago from the public schools.

the Class 6 and 5 schools are mainly your boy's volleyball schools with a smattering of 4s and 3s. they are mainly in Regions A and B. With all the Richmond area schools in the state tourney; Thursday should have a basketball atmosphere; I am planning to go.

Field hockey is also a big school thing in Classes 6 and 5 with a few schools in 3 and 2 participating mainly in the east and central VA..

Eastern View won the field hockey 4A state title this past Saturday in OT over Great Bridge. James Monroe won the 3A title again.
