The idea of having the entire 2021 NCAA Tournament all in one location is already a reality for the men's side. Indianapolis is the venue. The NCAA WBB 2021 Tournament appears to be headed to San Antonio for the 64 teams and 60+ games now.

The Final Four was already scheduled for the Texas city. Now, it looks like the entire tournament couldl be there -- eliminating scheduled regional sites at Albany, Austin, Spokane and Cincinnati. NCAA officials said it aims to limit the spread of the virus by cutting down on the amount of travel required by teams. It also said having all the teams in a single location allows for NCAA officials to better focus on "potential benefits" of hosting the tournament in a controlled setting for games, practice venues and lodging for both teams and game officials.

They do mention that they are preliminary talks. Being the "homer" I am, I suggest Louisville -- with the newly renovated Freedom Hall, KFC YUM! Center, Knights Hall, The Commonwealth Convention Center and other venues be considered -- instead of a city that could be putting early games at The University of the Incarnate Word and Texas-San Antonio (UTSA). I'm not saying anything bad about those two colleges, mind you, The UTSA Convocation Center is on campus and holds about 2600. Incarnate Word plays their games in the McDermott Center, another convocation-type facility that holds around 2000.

Really?

OK, I get it and realize that the AT&T Center is home of the Spurs. The Alamodome could host hoops, I guess, if it came down to it. And, I also realize what screams of "favoritism, homer-ism and regional bias" could come up if Louisville were to host. And, there's no way the NCAA would EVER consider Louisville for anything major in any sport for about the next bazillion years, right

But, the city could pull it off, I think. It would be a boosts to a downtown and regional economy that could use it. You could even tie in the Breanna Taylor and Black Lives Matter topics and such. I'm just saying that if San Antonio falls through, maybe they look what we can do in Louisville. We are a basketball hotbed. San Antonio is known for a neat RiverWalk and the Alamo. Oh well, I can dream, can't I?

I wouldn’t tie in the black lives matter movement that might scare them away with all the violence and vandalism it brings.
