Heard he is moving inside to DT

He didn't come across as very strong nor having good leverage as a DE. Did seem to have a good motor though.

Does this end the portal hunting for a DT? At least until spring...

Would imagine he would. Can't imagine him coming back if there were no schollies. But, he is still going to be buried on the Depth Chart.

Isaac, Robinson, DDS, Vilbert, Fisher, Vanover....plus incoming kids....
Moving to DT but now has to add 30lbs so …

On a separate note .. Keyvon Lee enters the portal per Twitter

Bummed about Lee to the portal. Maybe he should ask Noah Cain how his transfer ended up. Was not a feature back @ LSU. Maybe he needs to go G5 if he wants to be a starter.

Sounds like Cepheus is hinting at a commitment today on Twitter. If that’s the case it’s horrible I news for PS

Not true.
Hopefully he can get the transcript stuff figured out, even if that means finishing at Kent before transferring over in May.
Wide receivers are such prima donnas that it would assume to me that everyone of these guys that we’ve offered is being given more in terms of NIL or some thing to make them go to another team with less overall talent.

Noah Cain? In retrospect, his decision to transfer was a wonderful decision for him. Only thing that could possibly be reviewed is whether or not there may have been a better destination than LSU and their QB centric offense (but, given his connections to the area, I can't imagine he has a single regret - part of a three-man rotation at TB, 10 TDs as opposed to being "Keyvonne Lee" at PSU)

I wish him the best and hope he hooks on somewhere. With all the talk of NIL’s and free money, that isn’t the case with many of these guys. They just want to find a place where they’ll get more playing time in the game they love. If that isn’t at PSU then God Speed young man.

Don't overthink things. When there is a potential spring semester transfer (via the portal), especially when things happen late in the process, PSU football will have the player apply for a transfer. This causes an entry to be made in the student directory. However, it doesn't mean that the portal player is definitely coming to PSU.

I wonder who fronts the $300 bucks and I believe it's non refundable?

Keyvonne Lee would have played more had he not been injured.

Does he retain his scholarship?
I don't believe he "retains" his scholarship.

When he registers for the transfer portal he gives up his PSU scholarship.

My understanding is that if he decides he wants to return to PSU he has to ask PSU/Franklin if he can come back on scholarship.

So Franklin, Diaz and Scott must believe Townley has the ability to help PSU win games going forward.

It seems that we might have another name to add to possible WR list.
Noles 24/7 reports that Malik McClain has entered the portal and plans to visit PS soon. He’s 6’4 200+ Lbs. As they say, a good deep threat with good hands. A former 4star. He is a 3/2 kid
Way to go Hardslider with the breaking news...back then

Interesting. Fan base was done with Van Dyke and wanted this kid to take over. If you think PSU fans got vocal about our QB situation, It got uncomfortably vocal at hard rock stadium at times. Guess it’s going to be another van dyke season in 2023.

Not quite in the portal (yet), but here's an interesting and mind-numbing story that I fear may become more common. Florida Gator's newly signed QB recruit wants out of his national letter of intent that he signed last month because the Gator NIL collective he signed a contract with can not get the financial backing to make it happen. The deal was supposed to be worth $13m.

Even worse:
The situation could have long-term ramifications for Napier and the Gators. Rashada's representatives could file a lawsuit against the Gator Collective and maybe the athletic department.

NIL is coming along with an ever-growing assortment of complications.

Why is it that I feel no sympathy for anyone involved in this mess?

The entire thing - and everyone (at least nearly everyone) involved in it in any way is contemptible. For crying out loud, you've got young women (who happen to be "student-athletes") selling "soft core porn" (for lack of a more precise term - although SCP is apt enough, at least vav intent) and people calling it "NIL". Laugh, or cry?

Again, more evidence to get rid of the faux separation of school/NIL collective. Allow the school to raise money and dole it out as necessary. That said, about $4mm a year for an unproven, freshman QB is f*cking ridiculous. I hope they make him stick to his LOI.
