It feels like Providence has been mentioned a lot the last year or so as a potential neutral site game or home and home.

I wonder if Cooley leaving would nix that.

I still think Shrewsbury leaves for one of Georgetown or ND. Why would he want to stay when PSU is about to graduate EVERYONE?
I keep seeing this pop up. Let’s think this through logically.

If he stays. He’s rebuilding PSU. If he leaves for ND, he’s rebuilding ND.

Maybe he likes PSU. Maybe he feels PSU has more of a commitment to basketball than ND. Maybe his family likes PSU.

There’s more that goes into this than just a roster that can be rebuilt in the portal fairly easily.

PSU big donor just told me they are going to break the bank to keep him. Not sure if that means he is going to stay.

It’s true though. And NIL also is relevant as well.

People are just making it seem like PSU is a dumpy place to coach bball, but is it really?

PSU has plenty of resources. People don’t want to hear that, but it’s true

They still don't have ND money and at least at ND basketball is only 2nd fiddle to football whereas at PSU basketball is 3rd fiddle to football and wrestling.

Isn’t there also the rumor of the MSG game against Gonzaga, Providence, or St. John’s?
not St Johns. i think you mean Johns Hopkins. football/basketball double header thanksgiving weekend. schiano’s idea because he’s desperate for a second win after Wagner. his new thing is scheduling teams named after people. Every year the Namesake College Cup.

I think Cooley is closer to leaving for Georgetown than many realize. I was even shocked to hear or read some of the potential details that may be involved, but if it happens, it's going to make heads spin with a few posters on the message boards here, who keep saying the same (wrong) things 90% of the time.

Cooley could easily secure 7 to 8 years at Georgetown and with a modest extension within his 1st 3 years, go for a full decade to 15 years there. I have never been to Providence for more than a day but living or working in Northern Virginia or Bethesda MD (or DC) has to a factor.

I don't think playing Providence if Cooley leaves helps RU. RU needs a can't miss, no questions asked OOC opponent. It just needs 1 game, not 3 or 4. Find a legitimate game and we can fill in the rest.

PSU Fans won’t go to the weekday games. No one lives near PSU and everyone drives 1-3 hours to get there. Major disadvantage for the big ten season.
