wow, stall warning in TB2 because Paniro Johnson's shoelace became undone. Correct call, but it ties the match. However, Johnson wins on RT.

A full OT period of running has to be 2 stall calls. It just has to be.

SVN unreal! We can shake that 1st period off to nerves
Not even sure it was nerves. He got caught on that takedown. Once he couldn't get his arm out he was stuck the whole time. It sucks, but it happens

Reminded me somewhat of Ed Ruth getting his leg turked against Amuchestegi or whatever his name was.

Merde> Somebody suggested that Iowa had just "lost" the meet, and I was hoping Murin was the reason.

It was me and was actually based on SVN coming back for the pin being down 8-0.
If you read the Iowa board there was a post or two already throwing in the towel

Haines now on deck, four. Facundo still in hole, mat three, for another 30 seconds or so.

Man, Levi Haines is a great scrambler. He just has a feel for it. He reminds me a little bit of DT.

157 R1: #2 Levi Haines vs. #31 Ashton Eyler (Lock Haven) (I'll use AE for him)

Per 1
Not a lot thru 1st minute. Haines on a head outside single/high crotch, AE locking around the body, but Haines gets the TD, 2-0. Haines working a wrist/combo, but gets a little high, and AE gets out, 2-1. Haines in on a ankle pick, they scramble (good D by AE), and Haines with the TD with @ 15 sec left, 4-1. Stoppage for PD with 9 sec left. Caution on Haines on the restart. AE to his feet, lifted, and the buzzer sounds. RT @ 59 sec for Haines

Per 2
Haines takes bottom. He's to his feet, and returned. Back up, and out in 17 sec, 5-1. AE sort of shoots. Then Haines in on a single to a double back to a single, and gets the TD, 7-1. They are near the edge. AE to his feet and gets the esc and they go OOB with 10 sec left, 7-2. End. RT @ 1:01 for Haines

Per 3
AE takes bottom. After a bit he's out, 7-3. RT @ 1:18 for Haines. Haines in on a single, AE with another lock around the body, and a stalemate with 1:07 left. Haines with a single and is in deep, AE with another lock around the body, Haines tries to expose AE's back, and gets the TD with 25 sec left, 903. Haines tries to tilt and did but got a little far out so an esc to AE. With 1:44 in RT it's a 10-3 DEC for Haines.

I wish he hadn't given up that late esc or it would have been a MAJ.

Hate to have been so right on Facundo. He’s totally lost it. Negative finishing ability right now. More apt to get scored on than score on his own shots. Sad sad sad.

How does Facundo not finish those takedowns. The kid from Pitt is a hell of a scrambler

165 R1: #13 seed Alex Facundo vs. #20 Holden Heller (Pitt) (I'll use HH)

Per 1
Not a lot thru 2 min. Facundo in on a single. HH with a whizzer. And they go OOB with 8 sec. Damn. End

Per 2
HH takes bottom. HH to his feet, and he's out, 0-1. Facundo in on a single, they scramble, and eventually HH takes the TD, 0-3. Facundo with a quick esc, 1-3. Facundo in again, and HH scrambles again, and a stalemate with 32 sec left. Facundo in on a single, HH with a whizzer, nothing. End. RT @ 2 sec for Facundo

Per 3
Facundo takes bottom. He's out quickly, 2-3. HH shoots, Facundo sprawls, quite a scramble, HH doesn't release Facundo's ankle, and eventually HH gets the TD. 2-5. 30 sec left. Facundo stands, and he's out, 3-5. Facundo in on a leg, tries to get behind, and the buzzer sounds. Ugh. Facundo loses by DEC, 5-3

Something isn’t right. He struggled to finish at the Big Ten tournament 2 weeks ago in every match. He looked great in the middle of the season and struggled big time late.

I disagree. Facundo was a lot more active than he showed in the B1G Tourney. Heller was just a damn good scrambler. Both of his TDs came after crazy scrambles where Facundo was in deep, and appeared to be in good position, but Heller didn't release his hold, and ended up working around for the TD.

Byers mentioned a few times that this was the match the PSU coaches were most worried about in R1 because they knew how tough Heller could be to score on.
