Mulkey is wise not to respond...she will not buckle under pressure from the political left. To me, she is a breathe of fresh air.

Brittney Griner broke the law in Russia. She knew better.!! If you are a Russian citizen and you come to America and break the law, you are punished in OUR justice system. And by the way, she is not illegally detained. She broker the law and PLEADED GUILTY.

Mulkey is one heck of a coach. She did not get where she is without being one of the top coaches in America. If what former players are saying is true about Mulkey, why did they stay at Baylor?

"A player that built Baylor, 2 national titles, & a 40-0 record," Egbo said, "Yet her former coach refuses to say anything or simply just show any kind of support."

"Keep that in mind when you’re choosing schools."

Kim is a coach, not a drug counselor, politician, lawyer...she is paid to coach girls at LSU and win National Championships...plain and simple. I wish our coach was little more like Mulkey...silence is GOLDEN!!!!

Except Kim isn't the silent type at all when it comes to controversial and political matters. She's the one while at Baylor during all the allegations of rape said that "If somebody's around you and they ever say, 'I will never send my daughter to Baylor,' you knock them right in the face." She also dramatically ripped off her "damn mask" during her first press conference at LSU which she would have to know would be taken as an anti-facemask statement, which is of course political.

You can certainly compliment her for not buckling under pressure from the left. She certainly has not done that.

But OTOH, she has not stayed silent on issues, There are coaches who try to stay out of anything political whatsoever and that is just not Kim Mulkey.

Wow! Bring the doom and gloom. 🤣🤣When Booker commits we are still in the final group of 5 players in the national top 16 and another 3 that several “experts” think are grossly under rated.

I understand your, my and the whole board’s anxiety about this class. DS is known for letting players commit at their pace. We may already have several silents.

I think we take 4, 5 at the most. Someone’s gonna grab a Covid year. The portal is still there AND the 24 class is loaded with talent that is in love with us.

Del Rosario, Watkins, Kitts and Fulwiley would be a stunning class
Do you know if Watkins has ever visited?

We clearly see the world differently. Forget the moralizing about the honest and fair legal system of Russia.

Nobody asked Mulkey to be a politician, drug counselor or lawyer in that question. She was just asked about a human being who she saw every day for four years and who was instrumental in Mulkey’s fame and monetary success.

It was a lollipop open ended question. Mulkey is smart enough to answer it and HAD to know it was coming at some point. A simple “I’m praying for her.” gets it done. By her silence she is not wise or brave. The question does not disappear only raises more questions

You don't think Griner has to abide by Russian laws when she's in their country? Is that just because she's famous and can shoot hoops?
She certainly broke a law but is being punished ten fold to what others in Russia received who have committed the same crime. She is being used as a political pawn and that’s what is not fair.

This 100%, Mulkey is outspoken about everything, she even puts her 2 cents on stuff that she wasn't even asked about at times. Nobody says she has to agree/disagree with anything that has occurred as it relates to Griner and Russia. But at the very least she could at least showed the slightest bit of compassion to a player who has literally made her legacy as one of the top coaches in WCBB. She has continued to benefit from it because many of post players had wanted to follow in Griner footsteps by choosing her program and all she had to do what say "She gave her thoughts" when asked and it would have been over.

Not sure you can be convinced otherwise but it has been documented that similar crimes have received far less. Russian court releases American teen Audrey Lorber today after a month jailed for "attempting to import" marijuana - CBS News
I whole heartedly believe that if Brittney Griner was not a US celebrity that she would not have received such a harsh sentence.
Yes, she broke the law, maybish, but to not understand that she is a political pawn is beyond naive:

Also important to note, the girl in this story was found with about (17 grams, large scale =6+ grams) about 3x times as much marijuana as what is considered large scale in Russia. Whereas as Griner was found less than a gram (.7 grams, large scale 2+ grams) of oil which which is considered a misdemeanor in Russia and was still charged with large scale possession.

This was political theater at it's finest considering the sentencing didn't fit the crime based on Russia's own laws. It's just sad that we as Americans would rather pick a side based on our political leanings rather than see injustice that occured and that continues with the Russian government.

Could be; could be not. Russia breaks balls; we coddle criminals. We don't know how to relate to them or what they do.

Back to recruiting … Madison Booker has chosen Texas.
Thanks, you have kept us well informed!! Vic has them in the top 5. They could easily be a final four team this season. If they enter SEC next season they could easily be preseason #1 pick

Mulkey is a blowhard and a big mouth. Really don’t care for the style at all and neither do a lot of others one day she will have a “Woody Hayes” moment and be gone. Just watch. I really do not like her. She’s a whiner, complains and intimidates the refs and her teams are a bunch of “floppers” about like UCONN. Go check out Twitter I know it’s a cesspool, but look at what some of the folks who follow WBB are saying. It was classless not to make some halfway thoughtful remark. That said, she is very entertaining and will be fun to watch when they come here.

How is your grandson?? The kicker doing
Long snapper. He's doing OK. Team is struggling. Bunch of freshmen playing throughout the team and I expect some of their position coaches won't be there next year. All the specialists are freshmen, two kickers and two long snappers. My grandson has done all the snapping in games so far.

WOW!!! Wonder if Pat Summit were still alive and coaching what would be said about her?

Mulkey is the only coach I've seen on the circuit today that comes close to Pat!!!

Pat was a no nonsense, no excuse coach!!!

PS was THE Mother and grandmother of WBB. A tireless advocate for her players and all women.
KM is a pale, crude and crass imitation.

Kim couldn’t carry Pat Summit’s shoes. Have you ever watched her in a game. She was involved in a game last year. She essentially took a swing at an official. She’s totally on a different level.

Once again if you do not understand that this was a political prosecution you have missed the boat
Correct. If the U.S. wasn't supporting Ukraine in their fight against the Russian invasion, I suspect her sentence would have been handled differently. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Putin needed a pawn and there she was ripe for the picking.

Ok I couldn’t stand it and bought a .99 one day pass. Didn’t love all the info I saw so now I hope they don’t know as much as I previously thought 🤪
Per this site … Chloe Kitts gave a verbal months ago to Louisville but they now think we are the front runner.

On Aalyah Del Rosario they say it’s a LSU/Tenn battle. No mention of us.

On Fulwiley they mention her visits to Ole Miss and Florida and they say Florida is the front runner, but I’m assuming it’s only bc she hasn’t had her official with us.

Anybody a member of this site? This is the same site that predicted Booker to Texas.

Not a member but very curious. Her final 6 are
Duke, NCSU, Arizona, Oklahoma, L’ville and us.
Keep us informed! Thanks

L’vile was who I thought.... she seems a great fit for their style.

Del Rosario would be the missing piece for LSU or UT. Really would hate for her to go to either.
