Pitt got beat by a division III team the other day. Boy, the ACC media people, analyst, and ACC PM people were all very high on Duke and Kara L. before the season start. They were Duke this and Duke that. Kara this and Kara that. If you listen to them, Duke was the best thing since sliced bread. Duke had all of these players on the pre-season ACC teams. UNC had one I think, Reniya Kelly was the only one.
There is nothing wrong with Duke. They are just not all that good bottom line.
It could be coaching, who knows. The other thing that I do know is people like to make excuses for them and if it was any other team besides state, they would be celebrating, especially if it was UNC.
The Oluchi Okananwa transfer was a huge loss for Duke imo. She was a dynamo. The current team appears a bit sluggish from what little I've watched of them.
NCCU blew a chance for a nice win in the closing seconds. With ball down only 2 but turns the ball over.
Somehow, they are still sixth in the Bart Torvik rankings. I don’t get that.
Whatever it is, I hope it continues.

dook returned the most talent in the conference by far. They should be good. But I am not at all upset with this turn of events.

I'm assuming they meant bulletin board material for Carolina because the national media is talking about the team yet. IMO, that is only going to happen if Carolina can beat or play Texas very close because beating Kansas St. and Columbia isn't going to move the needle like that.
Wallpaper- referring to screensaver or wallpaper on phone. Caleb Wilson mention he screenshotted a post where he took offense and used as motivation and made it his wallpaper to look at everyday.

I assumed Trygger was still out when I saw this score. Nope, she started and played 36 min. Uh oh. In fact NCSU only played 8 women. State seems to already be down to an 8 woman rotation in contested games. The game was back and forth but Rhode Island scored the last 6 points.
Quigley started for the first time over Samuels, but logged 0 points, 0 assists, 0 rebounds, o stls in 20 minutes. Her only stat was a couple of turnovers. Yikes.

They are a joke this year. With Wes and kara struggling, the cream is really rising to the top
I am all in on the Schadenfreude, but I think it is a bit premature to write off either team completely; plenty of talent on each for them to figure it out eventually

I agree with you Tarboy. The ACC analyst is just bias towards our Women's team. They are all in with Duke, Louisville, NC State, and ND. If you slow HH down, then you have a good chance of beating ND. The only thing our women's team needs to do is just to keep winning and everything else will fall into place. Go Heels!
Here’s my take on the triangle teams… the pieces we added are better earlier than expected and our returning bench players seemed to have gotten better for the most part. If Nyla B and Taliyah play as they had so far and if Nyla can play well against a ranked team she’ll have to be in more FOY conversations. Elina and Nyla H is as good a transfer class as any in the country. Ive been very impressed with Elina overall. Plus the jumps CT, Laila have made is clear and both are big pieces to the rotation. Indya is better, Lanie looks more aggressive, damn I could go on and on. I’m not sure we were gelled enough yet when we played UCLA but hoping the last few games plus these 3 in Cancun we perform better against Texas. Just overall looks like a more talented team we have on the court this year.
Duke’s returners look the same to me. No offensive threat but I like Delaney thomas and if kara was smart would make her their focal point but they want toby f to be so good they do too much for her. The other returners mair, jackson, donovan look the same if not worse to me. On paper yes they should've been preseason top 10 ACC favorites but they’re a pain to watch. But with all that they still shouldn’t have lost to a 5-player wvu team and usf (who lost to fairfield who we beat). That’s just bad coaching tbh because no other reason they have a team of mostly juniors and seniors. Skinner had a lot of hype but hasn’t played much- either way I’m hoping all of dukes preseason hype wasn’t due to 1 incoming freshman. Richardson and Okanawa were bigger losses than the media thought because that was all of their offense in last seasons EE run. Unless they get a W in Vegas or against LSU a 3-6 record could be. Truly questionable in my opinion.
& State is also so questionable. The URI loss is concerning especially at home. Brooks is good but again getting way more hype than she should be. Rivers & james were dynamic and Jones and Brooks aren’t on that same level. After them they don’t have much guard depth. Samuels is ok but again not at any level that River or james had. Trygger is also much better and if the 5 they have on the court are playing well on both sides they can be very good (W against TN) but if not seems like they can run out of gas like against RI or TCU.
