3 goals in the third (including an empty netter). Zimmer, LJ Mooney had huge games. That and hockeywise, we hate Michigan? ;)

Long version(If you are bored):

LJ Mooney is from Pittsburgh, which is an under 3 hour car drive to PSU, as was Logan Cooley. Those types of players in PSU's backyard need to start staying home.

They will. Clearly, Penn State is the better program now. Thank you for letting us "borrow" them (Mooney, and Cooley). We lose so many instate players in hockey though. I guess we've been generous as well. Hopefully we can help you again tonight and next weekend. MSU at home next weekend in another Thursday, Friday series.

Cannot believe Fink did not get that. No B1G 2 seed now. WM lost to ND and gap closed. Reg win would have been huge. Get W in reg tomorrow and hope ND beats WM again.

Crazy Friday in college men's hockey.

- unranked Ohio State - 5, #1 Michigan St. - 1
- unranked Colorado College - 4, #9 Minnesota Duluth - 1
- unranked Bemidji State - 3, #17 St. Thomas - 1
- unranked Northern Michigan - 2, #18 Minnesota St. - 2
- #3 North Dakota - 5, #4 Western Michigan - 3
- unranked Bowling Green - 1, #16 Michigan Tech - 0
- unranked New Hampshire - 1, #6 Providence - 0
- #19 Massachusetts - 5, #13 Connecticut - 1
- unranked Boston University - 3, #10 Boston College - 1
- #14 Dartmouth - 7, #7 Quinnipiac - 4
- #5 PSU - 3, unranked Notre Dame - 3

So #1 lost, #2 won, #3 won, #4 lost, # 5 (PSU) tied, #6 lost, #7 lost, #8 won, #9 lost, #10 lost, #11 won, #12 was idle, #13 lost, #14 won, #15 was idle

While a PSU win was our preference, I'm not sure how much a tie hurt PSU with all that took place in the top 15. Hopefully, PSU can rebound on Saturday.

Great post. College hockey can be crazy. Too bad we have a few that don’t realize that. The only real impact about not getting the reg. W was we would be .2-.3 behind W. Michigan rather than .6. I would like to see how close it could be after a reg WM loss tonight and hopefully a reg W for our guys.

Tonight is end of WM reg season and we still have a pair with Bucky. IF we could win next 3, we very well could slide in front. Then it comes down to who does better in their conference tourney. And don’t look now but Denver is playing really well and up to 6. So they could be a threat for that last #1 seed as well. Good thing is WM, ND, Denver need to tangle with each other in NCHC tourney.

Is this when I say that Gadowsky is like Franklin? I want to make sure I’m doing it right.

Always watch out for Denver. They seem to find a way to have a deep playoff run.

PSU with a terrible PP, where I don't think they got a shot on goal, and ND nearly scored.

PSU returned the favor, so to speak, as they scored right after a ND PP, with some nice work by McKenna to set up the play.
