They can't even beat bad Big Ten teams. Rutgers was also winless in the Big Ten and they can't beat them at home--just sad.

What was Kraft’s rationale for keeping Krieger this year. PSU has had some level of success is all its sports except for basketball. I feel Rhodes is at least a competent coach and just need to improve the personnel on the men’s side. Krieger has shown nothing in the ability to recruit or coach. And now we have a buyout situation.

For the most part, fans only pay attention to the sports that "do well" (I assume that is the case at most universities)

In actuality, PSU has consistently placed at or near the bottom of the Big 10 in:

Men's:
Cross Country, Gymnastics, Tennis, Golf, Swimming & Diving, Baseball, Basketball (obviously)

Women's:
Softball, Golf, Tennis, Gymnastics, Swimming & Diving, Basketball (obviously)

Several have been "up and down" with occasional finishes in the upper part of conference) Men's and Women's Track & Field etc.

Those that have been consistently successful:

Women's:
Soccer (less so recently), Volleyball

Men's:
Wrestling, Football, Soccer (also less so recently)

That's pretty much it.

The Hockey team had that great post-season run last year, but that was a first. Hopefully will continue to achieve success moving forward.
Women's Hockey, Men's Volleyball, and Fencing (which has "fallen off a cliff") are, of course, not Big Ten sports.

A handful of sports used to be very successful at PSU, until more recent years (Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Field Hockey, Fencing, etc) but have dropped off recently.

Overall, in all of the Big Ten sports in which it competes, PSU's average placing in recent years is just a tad below the mid, and trending downward. That wasn't the case until recent years (the last 8-10 years or so)

On a snowy day I saw where former Lady Lion Shay Cirezki is averaging 23 points per game and has over 30 today. Would be our best player if she had stayed

I see that all the remaining PSU WBB home games are scheduled into Rec Hall (not the BJC), and they have only had one in the BJC since early December.

Was that also the case last year? FWIW, I thought they always played in BJC - except for maybe one Rec Hall game per year (similar to the Men)

If you think the MBB program is in bad shape, you should take some time and watch the women, if you can stomach it. Pretty much lack of effort, defense and any coherent offensive strategy. Since Merkle is injured, there is zero inside presence. As with the men, they will be hard pressed to win a game in the B10. Kieger is an awful coach.
