hmm, Romano brought in for the bottom of the 8th, in a 1-1 game. And per the Gameday stats, his fastball had more speed than he showed in his previous outings. And he had a 1-2-3 inning (I think they all popped out.)

Fightins take the lead, 2-1, in the top of the 11th. And then Ross comes in to pitch for them in the bottom of the 11th, and gives up a double and then a HR. 4-2, Braves. I believe it was the first two hits the Braves had gotten since the 4th inning. smh

Care less about the runs and hits for Painter glad to see his velocity on point especially for his first outing

I thought he was a little choppy. It was interesting to see that many people crowding around the bullpen to watch him warm up. It felt like everyone in the park was there. The first pitch I saw him throw went over the catcher’s head and buried itself in the padding.

All that matters is how he feels in the morning. Plus side, his velocity is obviously +++. Minus side, he needed 36 pitches to get 4 outs. He was deep in most counts and secondary pitches were not sharp. He blew the ball past kids who might not have ever seen 100 before.

I will be interested to see his next start as I’m sure he was geeked up tonight. Let him settle into his routine and you will learn a lot more on where he is. As long as there are no setbacks, mission accomplished tonight.

Remember, he was the guy who, a short time ago, after he couldn’t field a ball, mouthed “I F’in hate it here”. Well maybe he will F’in hate Lehigh Valley where he really should go! He blows and is a major head case. Sosa needs to be at third.
