I think it's more crappy recrootin, based on PG metrics rather than getting real athletes. GoTro can only do so much, and he's proven that he can be a good hitting coach. But he honestly probably should have cashed in on one of his head opportunities instead of staying.

It's something we do here. It's not just recruiting. Sawyer Reeves - all he's ever done is hit before he got here. Granted, it was against a lower level of competition, but we haven't exactly played anyone of note yet this season. 3 of our 4 games were against Manhattan. He struck out 11% of the time last year. 22 Ks all year. He's a .300 hitter over 3 years. He's striking out in 30% of his ABs here so far, and batting .077. Is it early? Yes. Will he even out over time? Maybe. But he gets here and he's instantly a liability, even against Manhattan?
Sullivan is a preseason AA. He did what he was supposed to against Manhattan. 0-4 last night against good pitching. Is that an anomaly? Probably, but we'll see. He's going to see nothing but good to great pitching after we get out of non-con.
Reese is supposed to be a big addition, and he's batting .167 so far.
Highfill is Highfill - batting .154.
I don't know, something has been off with our hitting since Rowdy and Tanner left.

We have transfers and a lot of Freshman, but there should be something written on a wall somewhere, telling them…we don’t lose to Southern Mississippi or that other one, muthe’ f*ckers.
Our last trip to Hattiesburg for baseball was much more dramatic!

We didn’t miss in recruiting. We would have crapped a brick if we had signed him. He was fired up to play us. That’s it. He is mid just like that mid team we list to. I hope he starts in two weeks and kick his ***.

This. Listen, we may be terrible. This game may be the canary in the coal mine, but everybody calm the hell down.
Our coaches are soft which leads to players that are soft and too casual/non chalant. Until that changes we will keep getting meh results
Yeah, when all the blue hairs stay home and don't pack The Hump, er uh, I mean The Dude.........that causes a loss every time
Just to be clear, if Lemonis and Gautreaux resign tomorrow I will not shed a tear. But I'm not going to get worked up about a February midweek loss to a pretty decent team.
Same, I'm not freaking out, but it's just another data point that supports a trend over the last 3+ seasons.
Not happy with the loss, but they did say that USM started their Friday night starter in this game.
He pitched and got the save for them Friday, but he wasn't their Friday night starter. Plus you forget that 3-4 other guys also shut us down. For all the downvoting you do, you figure you'd have the facts straight.
The biggest problem here is this is the type of guy Cohen immediately began bringing in when he started rebuilding our program. He's the type we need at MSU but we were too cool for school and instead went and got all these Georgia Perfect Gamers.
It's not that we lost.....losing on the road to a good team (even if it's USM) is reality in baseball. It's the way we lost......just looked totally pathetic and out-classed in every way.
As we should have too. Of course, he only pitched 4 innings. Not that pitching is the reason we lost.
Seems to be Jethreauxdawg's version of ClintonInHelen's "I'd hit it" and been getting a chuckle out of it. Started in one of outrage threads over basketball last week and looks like he's carrying it over to baseball.
Just find it funny when reading through all of the passionate, detailed and serious breakdowns of what our problems are or might be he simply drops "I blame the fans" in the middle of it. I assume it is sarcasm and some pretty good smartassery.

Like I said, the announcers said that he was their Friday night starter, not me. I agree we did look really bad at the plate, regardless of who was pitching, and in looked bad in the field sometimes too.

it's such a relief to see that it only took 4 games and 1 loss before the bitching about coaching starts for the season. Actually, bitching about coaches is really the number one sport on message boards.
