Possible but man there are a lot of guards on that team right now. Would figerure there other position of need for them than guards
Iowa State? Since they don't have a team now she could come right in and start.
I think she sees herself as something bigger than the in-state Iowa schools. But who knows.
Maybe she got some humility at LSU. I personally don't think she's a fit at Iowa but If she wanted to come then I wouldn't turn her down.
I'm hopeful we can attract a 6', athletic wing that can shoot threes. We also need another PG.
Kenzi Hare from ISU entered the portal today. Only 3 players from the 2025-2026 ISU team remain.

Looking like a big drop-off next season unless Iowa brings in at least one big-time transfer along with significant others. Whatever money they had earmarked for players like Bjorn and Lewis should be on the table unless they are willing to save it for 2027 5-star caliber players like Williams. Programs around the country are loading up.

Why would there be a big drop off? I think they'll have a a better team actually, doesn't necessarily mean they'll have a better record or finish 2nd
Where is this big drop off coming from? In conference play the only player leaving that scored more than a handful of points is Hannah. KF was a good defender but no bueno on the offensive end and McCabe was out with an injury for most of conference play. You have 3 sophomores and 2 freshmen returning who generated 70% of the points and assists, and 2 of those were coming off the bench. You have a 5 star talent in Woliczko coming in on top of that. Jan needs another guard or 2 for sure, but the returning production looks a lot like it was this past year.
I had expected to see an announcement immediately after the Iowa loss, so there might be some truth to this.

You might not turn her down, but the Iowa coaching staff would.
I get that their is interest in her because she is from Iowa and was teammates with Journey in high school, but she is NOT coming to Iowa. It's a mutual decision between her and the Iowa staff.
She considered Iowa, and Iowa considered her, until her visit. It wasn't a fit and Iowa didn't offer.
I don't think they ever truly considered Iowa. From the start all I ever heard was "She's not going to Iowa." From multiple people who would know. This was when she was recruited out of high school. Who knows now, but I would be pleasantly surprised if she wanted to go to Iowa at this point.
Why would there be a dropoff? This was a young team who will keep getting better if they stick together.

I think defense will struggle for sure and most likely rebounding will struggle early on. People don't understand how important the seniors were there.
Not vouching for this, but this was posted on Cyclone Fanatic last week, FWIW. Had never read this level of detail about what exactly happened with her. Hard to know if true, but seemed like something was off with her Iowa visit and follow up.

This is what happened with Jada Williams, according to someone who is dating one of the players on the Iowa WBB team. Jan and Raina wanted Jada. She visited. Numbers were discussed. When you visit during portal season, you basically get an offer, so yes, she received an offer.
However, the girls on the team did not feel she was a team player and it was communicated to the captains (Kylie F and Taylor S) that they didn’t feel comfortable with her joining. Many of them had casually encountered her in AAU and reportedly some parents weren’t into the idea either.
So the captains told Jan that and Jan listened to her players, pulling the offer after what she thought was a good visit. I’m sure she would have loved to sign Jada, Iowa was desperate for a PG and JW is the kind of athlete Jan is trying to increasingly target. But her loyalty is to her team.
Idk that Jada would have chosen Iowa over ISU (I know she was friends with Addy B, I don’t believe she had a real relationship with anyone at Iowa).

Jan's offense is not setup to let guards really be successful. She wants to pound the post good guards going to play in a system more suited to them. That is why Deal wanted to come to Iowa to begin with was Lisa's style. Jan ducked up and changed it all
