Thankfully, I do know what a takedown is.
Other than the occasional bull rush, I don't think Peterson has taken a step forward the entire match.
At this rate, Duke should be taking the mat right around the time this Lilledahl match ends.
@GregPickel Can you cover Davis? I think we're going to have some overlap.
133 QF Mat 4- #1 Marcus Blaze vs. #9 Dylan Shawver (RUT)
Period 1:
Circling & hand fighting. Blaze creeps forward. Shawver tries an underhook, but Blaze easily fights it off. Blaze tries some snaps. Shawver reaches for an ankle, but can't get there. Shawver gets to a leg, but Blaze fights out of it. Out of bounds, neutral restart. Blaze gets to a leg. Shawver tries to lock around the waist, but Blaze finishes the TD, 3-0. Blaze rides out the period. 3-0 Blaze
Period 2:
Blaze takes down. He quickly works to his feet & gets the escape, 4-0. Blaze presses forward. He takes Shawver to the edge. Shawver shoots, but Blaze blocks him off. Blaze snaps & comes behind for another TD on the edge, 7-0. Blaze cuts Shawver, 7-1. Blaze picks an ankle on the edge & tries to drag Shawver back in. He gets Shawver back on the mat & reaches for a leg. Shawver tries to dive out & gets a stall call. Out of bounds & neutral restart. Blaze presses forward & reaches for an ankle, but Shawver kicks free. Shawver gets another stall call, point Blaze, 8-1. Blaze shoots, but they go out of bounds, neutral restart. Shawver takes down. Blaze with a tight waist ride & he cuts Shawver with 50-seconds on the clock, 11-2. Shawver shoots & gets to a leg. Blaze locks through the crotch & then gets an ankle & is trying to come behind. Blaze finishes another TD, 14-2. Blaze cuts Shawver, 14-3. Blaze shoots, Shawver counters & they go out of bounds, no scoring. Blaze creeps forward. Blaze takes Shawver to the edge & out. Another stall call on Shawver, point Blaze, 15-3. Blaze shoots & gets to a leg. Shawver locks through the crotch. Blaze keeps working, but can't finish the TD. Blaze adds a riding time point, 16-3.

I stink. Sorry gang. Davis got the initial takedown of the period to lead 5-4, but Vombaur scored seven uanswered from there to lead 11-5 after two. Beleive it was takedown and two nearfall plus an escape, but not sure. Either way, 11-5 VV after two.
