I just posted about this. Byers said 29-6 but I also count 29-5. Was thinking Byers was wrong every time he said it. (If it had been a drinking game…)PSU went 20-3 on Saturday
PSU went 9-2 on Sunday
Not a bad tournament
Edit: I think they went 29-6, so I must have missed a loss.
I don't care what anybody says, Starocci not being the Hodge award winner last year peeled the legitimacy of the award right off the trophy.I’m not one for conspiracy theories, as the simplest explanation is usually the correct one. But when guys like Nolf and Starocci never win a Hodge, something is fishy.
I could see him stealing a match against Blaze/Seidel/Davino by keeping it close and them making a mistake. He's good enough to take advantage of that. I don't see anyway he can beat Jax Forrest.Don't count out Ayala. He could sneak a win against some of those guys.
Isn't there another wrestling oriented forum for you to spew you BS? Your participation here isn't really welcome.This. From the time they hit the mat with 1 second left to the time the clock expires, McEnelly was in a control position. The entire time no matter where you stop it.
This is a classic bad official understanding of control (something you used to see mostly only at the lower levels of wrestling). You don't have to completely stop your opponent's movement to be in control. You have to gain control criteria beyond reaction time. Behind both arms, supporting points down, on top for a full second here. Welsh trying and failing to roll underneath does nothing to disrupt McEnelly's control.
Again, I retract the PSU slander. This is only the latest example of this problem, not the entire problem. Next time it may burn you guys and I will be just as mad!
Interesting. You don’t see a lot of 50/50 judgement calls leading to a crisis these daysTHe sPOrT iS iN CrISiS!
Because of this?
Just saw a Facebook post by Ferrari Sr where he was whining about Welsh, claiming he was grabbing Angelo’s singlet during their match.oldmanferrari looked like a potential Iranian terrorist while sitting mat side today.![]()
Hyperbolic much. You’re blind. That’s been a takedown in college wrestling for 50 years until those idiots decided to reinterpret reaction time this year to mean 2 full seconds so they never have to make a tough call because they’re cowards who are bad at their job.
You are right that was consistent with how’s that’s been called this year. It’s been called wrong all year and it’s killing the ******* sport. Makes me sick.
What wasn’t consistent was the ref letting Haines walk straight out of bounds no call and then calling McEnelly on the same thing in the next match (if you want evidence of inconsistency).
Don't forget to add bonus points to PSU vs the BIG7-1 and the only loss coming in the tiebreakers. PSU would’ve won in a PSU vs B1G dual!
Did they even allow a takedown in the finals?
taken down a split second after the period endedI dunno. You can argue that’s how they’ve been calling it but Rocco got taken down. Bad call.
Barr????We have one more year with Mitch. Is it possible we will ever witness someone as offensive in college in our lifetime?
Gas tank fo days, and every move in the book. Truly amazing to witness
And miss a chance to arbitrarily apply his authority in a way that abuses the spirit of the rules to make himself feel powerful? Never! That's not the official's way!Its your call but I would humbly request some mercy or at least a timeout for js vs a total ban.
Uhh or what Tom Ryan did?Love to hear what Jesse did that Mitch and Barr didn’t.
Wore a uniform that wasn’t blue and white!Love to hear what Jesse did that Mitch and Barr didn’t.
tbf welsh did very clearly grab the singlet at pivotal points in the match. that's probably one of the more reasonable complaints mr. ferrari's ever had lolJust saw a Facebook post by Ferrari Sr where he was whining about Welsh, claiming he was grabbing Angelo’s singlet during their match.
2 mat refs said no TD and who knows how many independent refs in the booth said no TDIs it clutch when you when on a bad call
Ruth, Taylor, Brooks & Haines. Good company!Believe they announced Haines as the 4th
Suicide by cop here. You don’t understand the rules. Not surprised you’re an official. That seems to be a requirement.
Haven't seen him score on Welsh yet. Just saying.184 is going to be crazy for years. These 4 guys are so young and so good. Any one of the big 4 can beat any of the others in any given match. If anyone separates I think it will be Sinclair because he has the most scoring potential.
I thought it interesting, after seeing the replay in the arena, he then explained it to Minto. A, perhaps explain the rules to your wrestlers prior to the entry onto the mat?I believe I heard him say "Penn State refs" on the TV - during his tirade

Barr in my mind is a top 3 Pound for pound wrestler up there with mesenbrink and MendezAll of the national pundits and other fan bases that fawn over everyone. You hear about MM,Haines,Duke, blaze, mendez,Davino,SVN, Ferrari x2, Forrest, lockette, and more rather consistently. Josh Barr just dominates but is not often referenced or mentioned.
Carter shouldn't have won last year because he wasn't the best wrestler in america. Mitch was.I don't care what anybody says, Starocci not being the Hodge award winner last year peeled the legitimacy of the award right off the trophy.
Nolf didn't get the award in years Zain won twice and Bo the last year. Nothing every fishy about those 3 years.
Nolf won three titles and lost to Zain, Zain, Nickal. Not sure we can ***** about thatI’m not one for conspiracy theories, as the simplest explanation is usually the correct one. But when guys like Nolf and Starocci never win a Hodge, something is fishy.
most of the unsold tickets were allotted to the 14 other big ten schools who couldn't sell them. I didn't see a single maryland fan there in two days.I was shocked to see how poor attendance was throughout the 2 days. Lots of empty seats, especially for the finals. I get States finals are Saturday, but I expected a pretty full house for tonight.
It’s a sport in crisis….Pj Duke not freshman of the year? Cael not coach of the year? What **** is this
hand clapI just want to take a moment to congratulate and recognize Rutgres. They have once again maintained their perennial top 10 status.
And miss a chance to arbitrarily apply his authority in a way that abuses the spirit of the rules to make himself feel powerful? Never! That's not the official's way!
Might be a good loss (if there is such a thing). Blaze is hyper-competitive. He’ll be laser focused going into Nationals.Neither guy ever shows a lot of emotion. Especially Blaze. Even so, Blaze has more scowl to him than normal. No doubt the loss is not sitting well with him. I get it.
How can they be calm or expected to act like gentlemen when the sport is in crisisI can’t think of another sport where the coaches can act like crybaby lunatics like they do in wrestling and not get suspended for it or worse.
Tom banning you is nothing for reasons already shown.he'll never catch me alive
No. Full ban. Tom does so much for us ! In a year he can petition directly to Tom.Its your call but I would humbly request some mercy or at least a timeout for js vs a total ban.
