PJ is more physical than Marcus and Davino is better than Taylor. Marcus simply needs to push his pace and initiate offensive attacks.
All respect for Mike. He shows up knowing the outcome before he even shakes hands, yet he wrestles his asss off. Also, without this portal kid Iowa wouldn't be able to field a finalist.
I was watching the replay on the screen and it was obvious as heck. What surprised me was that Snyder was still screaming at the mat judge, who called it initially, after the review and the review left no doubts.
Heck Snyder was still screaming at him after the match.

I think manning is a joke, general like Snyder, not sure from where they were sitting, they had the angle to see the figure 4

Duke/Taylor last time, it happens. Ben asked that something to say about this. Just get your offense on early and don't depend on one last second call.
I have followed Penn State wrestling since 1969, travelled all across the country, mostly driving in the early years. I just watched one of the greatest semis and finals in Penn State history, I was off the couch watching most of the matches, yelling.
I click on this site and 90% of what I see is a bunch of whiners, you would have never made it through the Sunderland years, toughen up.
I'm still celebrating so that means I'm staying away from here for a couple of days, too much negativity gets contagious. Carry on, see you at nationals.

Ha, I just wrote this in a story that's about to be published. I feel like the argument for most is centering on whether or not it was a takedown, not whether or not there was any time left on the clock. Good for Pyles for getting an explanation.
I really enjoy when PJ goes on the warpath.
He will lose that head to head versus the field, but that is only small percent. Not sure where he will be in final coaches rankings.
I got my tickets for 125 ish a piece for the BIG tournament. They were upper deck, but still in the building.
I got 2 for the Nebraska match 4 rows back from the mat, just off center for around 100 each. We were right beside the Nebraska bench.
I know everyone has their different price points. I am simply putting out my experience.
I have to say, my wife and I both enjoyed the dual meet more than the tournament. The finals were nice to see in person, the remainder I would be perfectly happy to watch on TV.
Good God, stop it. Penn State fans aren't the ones who changed the rule and don't have a say on the merits of it. Penn State kids (see Duke v Taylor or Mirasola v Feldman) have been on the receiving end of reaction time BS this year. The reaction time was a problem waiting to happen, but the behind standing caused an uproar so this is what we got.
As far as the OOB calls, go all in. If the wrestlers go OOB someone should be called, period. It seems as though 80 percent of most matches are wrestled at the edge. If I had been reffing that match I would have given the 3. But I also would have given Duke and Mirasola their TDs, as well several other ridiculous reaction time calls I have seen this year.
However, I wasn't at any meetings this year to hear what the emphasis is to be. Not awarding that TD seems to fall in line with the way they have called things this year.
Marcus question... obviously the kid is All-World and I think he has a fantastic chance to win it all this season. That said, what are people's best guesses as to his reluctance to shoot on Davino? Was it too much respect for Davino's scrambling ability, too much reliance on his own amazing counterattacks, Davino's defense too strong, or something else?

He's no more reluctant to shoot on Davino than on Ayala.
Blaze is primarily a counter wrestler. The best guys only give you so many counter opportunities. See also: Rocco Welsh.

He doesn't let up and when he is finishing his TD, his ability to torque someone into submission is brutal.
Mitchell destroys his opponents with his pace of attack, Josh just brutalizes them.
Hypoxia makes it really hard to think and AJ had a very low oxygen level towards the end of the match.
I'm not saying "reaction time" wasn't correctly applied here under current rules (i.e., it's impossible to have a TD with less than 2 seconds on the clock regardless of whether you meet all criteria because it's inside "reaction time"). IOW, once McEnelly met the final portion of criteria by returning Welsh to the mat, the clock was inside a second but had not gone to zeros. McEnelly had firm control of Welsh as demonstrated by returning him to mat from a rear-standing position, Welsh hit mat prior to clock expiring and McEnelly never lost control of Welsh at any point including after they hit the mat (McEnelly was in firm control before and after they hit mat - never lost control in any way). Just don't see why "reaction time" really applies to the the situation.
It was a Hail Mary in the first match in thr sense that it was the only possible way he could win the match at that point and it required everything to go right in that exact moment including an elite opponent allowing for the opening. I think, as we’ve seen in both matches, that scenario favors Davino and it should be one Marcus takes steps to avoid by changing his approach.
I’ll gladly take the other side here. Tom doesn’t need to show grace to someone who twice insulted him and then said he would be a coward for reacting accordingly.
Yeah, I don't really care that much about what happens here but I would note what my uncle charlie, who spent about 50 years in pro baseball, once told me about arguing with umpires. You can/should be able to say any word except one: "you". And that line was kinda crossed.
