Birder here.
Breeding season for resident birds is just starting. Think Northern Cardinal, both local chickadees and Tufted Titmouse etc.
Early migration is too, think Eastern Phoebe, Palm Warbler etc.
When a bird exhibits this behavior, it sees itself in the reflection and thinks there is a rival on his territory.
So a dirty window will prevent a reflection. Also put a temporary sticker or two on the window where he is pecking.

To all you guys, please feel free to send bird questions.

:)
Awesome and big thanks! - i did put a bunch of duct tape squares on one of the panes yesterday. Still going, but it may be that he has simply moved to a different pane. I will evaluate and remit.

unrelated question - as i sit here looking forward to enjoying today's action, I am being subject to something annoying AF. Beginning yesterday morning, a small bird has decided that he simply must fly into my kitchen window. He is literally tapping on the thing incessantly for hours during the day. Any suggestions for eliminating this behavior, other than trying to shoot him, which would probably result in the death of a neighbor?
My guess is he sees his reflection in the glass and sees the "other bird" as a threat his territory or mate. I wonder if you could tape something on the window to breakup the reflection.

Edit: Oops.....didn't see the other replies when I posted. They nailed the solution.....tape a piece of paper to the window to X the reflection.

If it’s just a territorial thing then there’s not much you can do. Just be glad it’s a small bird. A couple years ago we had a blue jay who kept attacking his own reflection and I thought he’d eventually go through the glass.

Any chance you can set him up with a portable TV on the kitchen counter? Pretty sure he wants to watch the tournament.

Can you (Aardvark) blue tape a piece of translucent paper or fabric to the outside of the window, for the duration of the tournament? If the window is not too large, it might only take a few minutes.

Even a patchwork of printer paper might not take too long to put up

Tom. We need a pinned thread for Ornithology
Seriously tho. I never wrestled. I got into this when my youngest was 4 or 5. He wrestled for 2 years. Since then, I have become a huge fan. But my knowledge is not like many others on this board.
So I feel like I am adding value to the board in some tangential way.

Eating your own is eating your own. This is actually the same. Be better guys. This is why I think forums should be your real name own what you say. Also athletes and parents read this stuff so do recruits and future recruits
To be fair, I think there is some pretty clear evidence that this forum has not affected recruitment. There is also waste book, TikTok, Instagram etc that have more weight in the social media world than this forum does.

I do think a lot of people here are a little harsh on the kid. He is doing a good thing for the TEAM. I do not think he will AA this year, however, his path is NOT out of the question. I honestly would not be surprised if he Xfers out after this season. If he doesn't, I would encourage people to back off and give him respect for staying.

Try putting up a a photo of a hawk? Silhouette of the paper can be a hawk silhouette.

I don’t think Braeden is getting “hate”. People are just a little too honest with expressing their opinions, especially when they’re just repeating each others’ same opinions again and again. After a while the repetition itself becomes the problem. It’s just a little not polite. It would be hard for the subject to listen to, and therefore it’s hard for us to listen to.
This might be true for some posters but is mighty generous toward others.

Claims that a returning AA isn't skilled enough or dedicated enough to be in the lineup, are not rational and are not supportive.

FWIW, by my count, PSU starts the day with a 68-3 edge in takedowns. The eight quarterfinalists did not give up a single point other than escapes on Thursday. And the Lions were not called for stalling by my count on day one.
Stall point or warning? Didn't Luke get hit at the end of his match in Round 2?

it seemed to me generally, from the limited amount i watched, that the refs were not particularly inclined to call stalling. or maybe guys are just letting it fly

Really looking forward to 149. Swiderski has been on a tear since dropping 4 bouts in early November. Was he injured or something?

He put the A on the end. Black people call black people that all the time it wasn't the hard R. It's 2026
VS could be green for all I care. Its shouldn't be used at all. I know, I know its a cultural thing. I still don't have to like it. Besides that I think VS is a decent poster.
