I put Jody Strittmatter on his back with a cow catcher back in junior high. No need to look up how that match finished
To be fair, John would have held Josh to a decision except that he threw a desperation lateral drop in the last few seconds and ended the match on his back.
I only ever heard that term from the crusty old Lehigh Valley announcers who covered PA states for PCN in the 1980s.
Which is hilarious since the Lehigh Valley is the source of the "cement series" move terms.

Here we go! Circling & head tapping. Herman shoots, gets a leg & finishes the TD, 3-0. Out of bounds & restart. Pierce is still down. He works to his feet & gets the escape, 3-1. Herman drops in on a leg, switches to a double, then comes up to a bodylock, but Pierce fights him off. Blood time. Herman is bleeding. Back to action. Herman works off 1-knee. He works to his feet & tries a 2 on 1. Pierce posts on the head, then reaches for a leg, but Herman fights him off. Herman blows out his nose plug & we've got more blood time. Back to action again. Circling & head tapping. Herman shoots, Pierce counters, but nobody scores. Pierce presses forward & has Herman on the edge. Out of bounds & restart. Stall warning on Herman. More blood time. Back to action again, 56-sec left. Circling & head tapping. Pierce snaps, gets Herman off balance, & then finishes the TD, 4-3. Pierce gets Herman bellied out. Pierce flips the script this season! I believe he was a finalist with a loss to Williams while he was with LR last year and now he gets a dominant win over a different LR opponent this year, very happy for him!

That would be the formerly tan Brock Herman, who went 14-6 primarily at 157 last year for anOSU, bumped up to 165 for the PSU dual and somehow lasted the full 7 min against Mesenbrink. (Still got teched, but at the 7:00 mark.)

Love this. I pinned my roomie at Bloom his freshman year. Came is as a #1 freestyle at 158 from Detroit, MI. We called him little Frankie Beck. Dad was huge in the car business in Michigan. That little fker spent more time getting laid his freshman season than wrestling. Lasted one year. Lmao. This should be an interesting match-up. Here we go! Circling, hand fighting & tying up. Joe presses forward. Zepeda circles around center. Joe works the head & drives forward. Zepeda counters with a 2 on 1 & then they break. Zepeda with some fakes. Joe with some snaps. Joe picks an ankle, but Zepeda counters. Joe hits a cartwheel, but Zepeda keeps working & gets the TD, 3-0. Joe gets the escape, 3-1. Tying up & hand fighting. Joe gets to a low leg, but Zepeda fights out of it. Zepeda snaps & gets to a leg. Joe counters, but Zepeda keeps working. Joe jumps over Zepeda a couple of times & the period ends without any more scoring. 3-1 Zepeda

Zepeda takes down. He works to his feet & gets the escape, 4-1. Circling & hand fighting with some tie-ups. Zepeda works a front headlock & drives Joe to the edge. Joe shucks Zepeda & drops to a leg. What a bummer to end that way, but still easily the best match I watched all weekend!
edit: glad to see Zepeda won the argument with his corner and finished anyway. His coaches were right, but he deserved a chance to give it a go

The big takeaway for me in this match was how incredible the in match adjustments and coaching from Casey were. In the opening sequence, Pierce had nothing for Herman in neutral, especially with that triceps tie. During the blood time, it showed Casey coaching something related to that tie and it was a completely different match after that. We are awfully spoiled with this coaching staff.
Wow, nice match. The injury MIGHT have made a difference, but you likely would have seen it go to sudden victory even IF Zepeda wasn't hurt and was able to escape late.
That match was worth the price of admission! Just an incredible match by both wrestlers! High level scrambles throughout. One of the best matches I've seen in a while.
