Yeah, disagree with the temporary order. Was sent back to the ninth court.
we all disagree with various segments of the government at one point or another. This whole thread is disagreements. I'm one of those that "stays within the lines". I follow the laws even when I disagree with them, I expect others to do the same. If you are in the country illegally you should leave. The ideal way is the way you came in - voluntarily. But should you choose not leave voluntarily, then, according to our laws, you fall under the possibility that LE of some form will arrest you and deport you. The order of the supreme court seems to me to say the agents CAN USE factors like race, language location, or job type as sole basis for stops.

Now that might change in the future. But to me, the court's decision negates just about 99% of the arguments in this thread.

Are mistakes made? Sure they are, and they will continue to be in the future. LE has made mistakes with American citizens in the past, well before this whole undocumented issue. To think or know or even assume, that similar mistakes are made because someone is brown seems somewhat negated because non brown people are also being arrested and deported.

I don't agree with some who thing that undocumented people are the source of our ills. We need immigrants if we are going to grow our economy. It's a crime, IMO, that our government can't come to grips with reality and design some plan to deal with this crisis.

Actually, as a resident here, who works with hispanic people who are here legally, they are staying home because the BP and ICE are illegally detaining people and harassing them based on their skin color.

As a reminder, your government must have probably cause that a crime has been comitted in order to detain you. What is happening is very ILLEGAL. I would ask you so called conservatives, are you afraid of your neighbor or your government?

Again, legal, working people are afraid. I know first hand.

Every person they are searching fir has been identified with a detainer or warrant from a court is what I hear. The people who commit crimes and interfere with ICE at the field operation are going to get arrested and charged with interference.

I know this first hand.

The border crisis has crippled America. Something even moderate liberals think, but are too scared to say out loud for fear of being labeled racist. All Illegal Immigrants are criminals by the simple fact that they crossed into a country without permission. That doesn’t make them evil or gang members, even though some of them are. That doesn’t mean we as a society should be hateful towards them.

BUT, They are the cause of our housing crisis, inflation, job insecurity, and the lack of resources for elderly veterans and low income American families. In turn, this leads to low birth rates and if you thought the situation was bad now, wait until we are the elderly, and there was no one around to take care of us.

Compassion does not trump logic. Stand with America and for those coming to this country, legally, we will welcome you. We need to hear you. Extreme liberals think they own compassion.

But compassion is knowing when a situation is untenable.

Fatpiggy/Ole Fastball is a liar who doesn't pay bets.

ABSOLUTELY BEYOND ANY DOUBT
You really truly believe that every person they've searched for has a warrant or detainer from a court?

Wow they must really really suck at their jobs.

If they were just going after people they have warrants for or orders from a court, I would be fully behind them.

One of the guys who works for me remotely, is a citizen, but family is from Colombia. Same for him and his family (staying home if at all possible due to being brown). Also says he’s now carrying his passport everywhere.
Tell him to thank Joe Biden and the commie dems for creating this mess. I agree that he should carry his passport with him.

Well no you aren't, because as I stated, these people are at home, not leaving and terrified. They are here legally.

Sorry you don't like facts, sorry you can't read, and sorry that I dunked on your gutter trash friend who has gutter trash friends.

Go vote for it again, go crow and cheer for people's misery. It wont make you happy, and it will prove you are a terrible person.
Being granted asylum hearing at a date 10 years out does not exclude an illegal from expedited hearing and deportation. They do not have full constitutional protections of American citizens. You libs should be ashamed for supporting this atrocity put upon American citizens by the commie dems.

Once again, I've voted for Trump 3 times; I'm hardly a liberal. I never called you racist, either. What I did do, was remark about the trailer trash segment of the Republican Party, which has been emboldened the last decade or so.

I have no issue rounding up illegal immigrants, I just have a SERIOUS problem when it's done in such a reckless manner where you get US Citizens caught up. Furthermore, I am incredibly uneasy with the manner in which ICE/BP conducts their raids. Hell, the big Chicago TdA raid that was massively touted by the administration, recently, ended up with ZERO criminal charges. It seems like it's all just performative harassing of minority areas.
Why in the hell did you vote for Trump in 24 when he said at every opportunity that he was closing the border and deporting the illegals??? You are on here bitching about most of what he does when he told everyone what he was going to do. I voted for him 3 times and am very happy with my decisions.

I'm specifically and repeatedly expressing concern for people who are here legally.

If you get stopped by ICE (for whatever reason) and are asked to "prove your citizenship", I'm literally asking what you show them.

You don't have to be a citizen to get a driver's license and only around half of Americans have passports. Is it ok for them to haul me off to jail while they wait to check into my legal status?
I have a solution. National ID.

And that's why Fatpiggy is the biggest ******* on this board. He can claim whatever he wants, he blames whoever, he says racism isn't real, then he hates people of color and doesn't think they are due the same rights others are.
Yoshi please quit being a big baby. Debate the topic instead of injecting BS ito the thread.

Screw you libs and I mean that honestly. The deportations will continue in mass fashion. Donald Trump is saving our nation from being a third world hell hole. My support for President Trump is as strong as ever. MAGA is with him and we are the majority....this is for you @dpic73 and your delusions on his support.

🚨 JUST IN: Foreigners are waving MEXICAN FLAGS at a chaotic anti-ICE protest in Charlotte NC tonight

They're furious that federal agents have arrested over 200 criminal illegal aliens and gang members.

ICE should do a CLEAN SWEEP of this entire crowd! I bet at least half are illegals. DEPORT.

Dude, I'm not talking about asylum seekers. I'm talking about actual H1B's, green cards etc. They are staying home, terrified. These are completely legal folks.
Yes they have reason to, because legal people, legal citizens, are being detained and arrested. Sometimes, and often times violently, by masked agents of the government.
You 'cons' have lost your way. You no longer want small government. You no longer care about the principles you used to support. You want full on fascist authoritarian white christian nationalism.

What are the legal people being arrested for?

You sound like a drama queen. Anyone here legally and staying home because they are scared should be deported for being stupid.

You're the drama queens: 'They're eating the dogs'
'they took our jerbs'
'they took our homes'
'blame blame blame'
50 million hispanics live in this country. If you want to deport illegals, fine, do that. You don't have to enforce the law with Gestapo tactics. But you love making innocent people suffer because you think it makes you cool. It doesn't.

MAGA says its all Biden's fault cuz he "opened the borders" and then they proceed to blame ALL of American Society's downfall on those who entered said border. They make up numbers, they lie, they exaggerate, and they believe every single thing about latino's in America being rapists, murderers, lazy, etc.

But they are NOT racist. Not AT ALL. And if you call them that, "it means nothing" because they've been called it so much.

Has to be some of the least self aware people in the world.

Did you not see what happened in the elections two weeks ago? MAGA is far from the majority and even the Trump bootlicking Rasmussen poll has him way under on approval and all the polls show that Americans disapprove of the way he's handling immigration. It's the way he's doing it that so many disagree with. It's the cruelty...

They are indiscriminately rounding people up and new policy guidelines tell officers they must start a deportation case for anyone they arrest, even if they are pregnant or primary caregivers. They're denying bond to long-time US residents and refusing to exercise discretion for those who remain eligible for release.

Who is getting stuck in detention?

ICE’s indiscriminate and sweeping use of detention has even stunned loyal Trump supporters, leaving no one safe from losing their freedom.

This year, ICE arrested and detained:

Prolonged detention has devastating consequences.

We can’t lose sight of how serious it is when the government takes away someone’s liberty. Detention separates people from their children, loved ones, and livelihoods. It destabilizes communities and leaves families struggling to pay their bills. In some cases, detention is a death sentence: suicide attempts are common and at least 20 people have died in detention since Trump took office.

The Trump administration knows that detaining people in harsh conditions makes them more likely to give up their rights and agree to deportation, even if they have a strong legal case. One former ICE official has already said he expects “legitimate lawsuits” due to horrific conditions. Research shows that the stress and hopelessness of detention often causes people to abandon their fight to stay in the United States.

A quick Google seems to indicate Real ID could fix this, or even better, all states requiring proof of lawful presence to obtain a DL / ID Card. What would be the objection to this?

Yes, undocumented immigrants can get a driver's license in some states, but not all, as there is no federal law on the matter. Nineteen states and the District of Columbia allow undocumented immigrants to apply for a standard driver's license by providing specific documentation to prove their identity and residency, such as a foreign passport, foreign birth certificate, or a tax identification number. These licenses are not REAL ID compliant, as they require proof of lawful presence.

For one, that doesn't help for the sorts of kids who are being rounded up in Charlotte.

And as soon as Republicans stop trying to make it as difficult as possible to get IDs I'll start entertaining the idea of requiring them for more things.
