My wife is a dermatologist in PA and the amount of wrestlers that come in for help with the above plus every skin condition from dirty mats is unbelievable.
My son was at a nice wrestling club, but we had to quit that club because the club just did not pay attention to mat cleanliness. They had the young kids coming in right after the high school practice, and the mats would be wet with sweat, and they would just let the little kids on the mats. I knew we would not be able to change the coach’s sensibilities and culture so we quit, after my son got the ringworm, as did so many other kids.

Blades looked great today until she ran into Japan’s Ishi, loses her quarter 12-1. Glaude also lost her quarter. Taylor goes 0-1 and is out. Nwachukwu’s coming up.

Edit, also drops her quarter and awaits the semis to see if she gets pulled in.

I just don’t know what to think about Blades. I’ve been the president of her fan club from the beginning but I’m starting to have major doubts. Her wrestling IQ isn’t very high and she really seems to have plateaued as a wrestler. She has dominated in the past because of her superior athleticism. I thought as time went on she would develop more in actual wrestling technique and tactics which would make her unstoppable when paired with her athleticism. This is probably extremely harsh considering she won Olympic silver and is wrestling for a medal right now. I just thought she was going to be on a path similar to Elor and that looks more and more unlikely. I think she will continue to be one of the most electric wrestlers on the planet and be in the conversation to place every time out and that is an incredible place to be. I had just thought early in her career that she might go down as one of the goats.

Is there any chance Kennedy Blades considers moving to Stillwater? I know they don't have a program but what does she exactly have to prove in college ...?

I bet John Smith would love to coach her privately in his post retirement role.

Yeah I understand your perspective. She and Elor emerged at the same time and it seemed like they’d have similar trajectories. But then Amit went full unicorn, and Kennedy has “only” achieved Olympic silver (maybe a bronze now)in the same time. She could still end up with an Adeline/Maroulis/Hildebrandt career though. Which is utterly remarkable. But if Amit stays in the game, and maintains her level… She will be the usa goat and maybe the world goat. Levels within levels. I agree she needs the right coaching & training situation. Not sure who to suggest. Maybe Burroughs? They have similar gifts.
