The Penn State-related wrestlers who would be qualified to take a U23 slot if they lose at Final X or who won the U23 tournament like Welsh (and there are no U23-eligible wrestlers in their weight at Final X) are:
57 - Lilledahl
61 - Forrest, M. Blaze (If Forrest wins or loses and doesn't accept the spot)
65 - M. Blaze
70 - Duke
74 - Mesenbrink
79 - Haines
86 - Welsh
92 - Barr

Now that the U23 trials are over we are able to rank the order of preference for the world team spot based upon this criteria: 1. Traditionally, there isn't much news about this, and then USA Wrestling just announces the team. (So the deliberations, who accepted, who rejected, etc., does not take place in public.)
Last year's team was announced on July 10 (I think).
The U23 World Championships aren't until the end of October, so it's not as though they have to resolve everything ASAP.
