Luke looked really solid this tournament.

Armenian challenging the pin? PJ got him with a nasty cutback. I doubt they are going to overturn that unless they hit the mat after the clock expired. Actually, apparently the hand UP is the rule. Not the slap. Interesting difference between US folk and FS rules.

79kg Finals- Levi Haines vs. Ibrahim Yaprak (TUR)

Period 1:
Mitchell's brother from another mother is ready to get his calm & controlled beatdown on! Time to become gold twinsies, or golden triplets if you count Luke! Yaprak is very muscular. Those type of guys can wear down quick. Here we go! Tying up & circling. Yaprak tries an underhook & takes Levi to the edge, then out, 1-0. Circling, hand fighting & tie ups. The announcers are saying that Yaprak is very strong. Stoppage & Yaprak is warned for something. Back to circling. Levi shoots for a leg, Yaprak circles away. Yaprak drives Levi to the edge. Levi counters & hip tosses Yaprak out of bounds for 4, 4-1. Back to circling, tying up & hand fighting. Levi pushes forward. He takes Yaprak to the edge, then shoots. Yaprak gets a chest wrap & tries a reverse lift, but Levi hangs on for the feet to back TD & 4 more, 8-1. Back to neutral. Yaprak shoots, Levi counters & finishes another TD, 10-1. Levi has a bodylock, but can't get a turn. Back to neutral. Hand fighting, circling & collar ties. Levi pushes forward & shoots. He keeps driving & gets the step out for the Tech & the Gold!!! Another mauling by Levi. That tech was 21-seconds faster than Mitchell's gold win!

Levi Haines TECH Ibrahim Yaprak 11-1 (2:37)

Levi wins Gold & PSU has a set of golden triplets!!!

Levi, wow. Imagine how good he would have been had he wrestled in his senior year of high school. 😳

That first 4 allowed me to breathe the rest of that short match

NLWC is way over budget on the American Flag account this fiscal year.
Hey all, first time posting but I’ve been free-riding on this forum (well this one and we know another) for several years. Haven’t posted because I suspect everyone else’s knowledge and experience is superior to mine, but just felt compelled to post and thank SlipperyPete for the amazing PBP and everyone else for the fantastic commentary. With the season coming up I’ll weigh in if I think I have anything really worthy to add. Thanks again, reading the forum is my favorite activity (other than watching PSU wrestle, of course 😁).

Many of us just moved forward as you are describing. The long-timers are both accepting and tolerant…well most of them…with we more recent posters. Feel free to jump right in. Most of us don’t bite!

I see your point, but it is tough to argue that being broken in front of all other competitors isn't much more humiliating than giving up a 4.
Sure. Fans wanting opponent humiliation is universal I’m sure. I’m sure Iran wasn’t particularly comfortable with how DT beat their king the first two times out either. I think the perception—especially from Russia—is that to do so with wiley tricks and dumbfounding technique is the “higher form.” Not saying I agree—just what I’ve observed.
