Hope we didn't use up all our runs the past 2 games...
We may not win, but as of the Top 8th we are very much in this game. Only 2-runs down, out hitting the Hawkeyes and Burkamper had a quality start. I don't see the point in complaining at this stage in the game. GO HUSKERS!
Doesn't matter if you're outhitting a team, when you make mistakes like popping up bunts and indecisive swings at the plate, you end up not scoring runs when you have 2 on and no outs (twice). Gotta take advantage and string hits together.
got to love pitches a foot outside called strikes in the biggest AB of the game. lol college baseball.

Just got home. From the looks of the highlights the starter owned us by being down in the zone, and our guys not squaring up the pirches he did leave up.

watching on my phone, but strike 2 looked not even close. He's called a lot of those both ways. pretty standard in college baseball for the strike zone to be a mile wide - part of my reason for not liking it that much.
Yup, he was very good, but when you're indecisive at the plate, you make the pitcher look even better. We have looked like we have no confidence at the plate. Look very tight.

I know, and it's great that we won the conference, so a person can't really gripe much. But being 2 - 8 against one of your main rivals needs to change.
We need a huge injection of power into this lineup. When you are hitting like we were today, one swing can help you get back into the game quickly. And we really don't have that type of guy right now.
We played good today. Baseball sometimes is a game of matchups. Maybe we don't matchup well with Iowa. We were in this game the whole way. Sucked that we couldn't get anyone in. I was just a frustrated as you. Some things are beyond your control. You have to let it go so it doesn't eat you up inside.
Coach gets credit for the wins, they take blame for the losses too. That's the way it goes. None of this "Erstad wasn't at the plate" nonsense. He wasn't at the plate when we scored 36 runs the last two games either.
