Disappointing-I wouldn't say embarrassing.
Yeah, I'm going to take the day off tomorrow. Not going to give up on this team. We're making the tourney. Hope we can get healthy. I know how hard that is come playoffs.
Last year Minnesota was the regular season champion and went 0-2 in the torunament. So it's not like us getting eliminated this early as the #1 seed is unheard of.
No...embarrassing. Getting rung up, what, 16 or 17 times tonight? That's a really poor performance.
It happens sometimes. I'm as apt to be as critical as anybody of this team, but I just don't find that embarrassing. Embarrassing to me would be giving the game away by booting the ball around or getting blown out.
I know we didn't win the game, but we were in it despite the injuries. We may be effed due to the pitching health. I hope this season goes on longer.
Their freshman pitcher set a personal season best in Ks...in the 3rd inning! That was embarrassing. And...It makes us 1-6 in the tournament in the last 3 years.
I really think someone within the program needs to reassess their approach to coaching hitting or reassess their recruiting philosophy. Our pitching wasn't great during this game...but our hitting was atrocious. I mean just putrid. And we don't have someone we can put at 3rd that is hitting better than .164? Jeesh..
:Correction: The timeliness of our hitting was bad. We had a ton of hits. We just couldn't get a hit with guys in scoring position against Iowa and then late in the game against Maryland again. Sh## happens in tournaments.
Technically the rainbow was all red, it was the font shape that formed the rainbow.
Those uni's look old school like the 1920's. Didn't see any rainbow ( different colors) and always wondered what the hell you were talking about.
Yeah, that's what the radio guys called them, and I thought they were referring to the jerseys they wore in previous seasons with the red "N" and then different shades of red running horizontally.
Originally I was calling them "retro white" but changed when I heard the radio crew say "rainbow".
Correction...you're wrong. But we're used to that.
Getting Ked 15 times is too many, and doesn't give you much opportunity to string hits together when you have 5 innings of Ks distributed throughout 9 innings. You are also not giving yourself much of an opportunity when you leave 14 on base (in the previous game).
We sucked at the plate this weekend...period. Sh## seems to happen a lot to Erstad in tournaments. 1-6 in the conference tournament the last 3 years.
What EXACTLY was I wrong about? We had 12 hits and stranded 14 runners against Iowa. Looks to me like we had plenty of hits to beat a team that only put 2 runs up on the board. You said our hitting sucked. It didn't. What sucked was the luck of when they happened. Let me guess, you only play the blues with your band.
Nah, the blues requires musicians that are more serious about music. Although I can't listen to the blues more than an hour or two, because the chord progressions are nearly identical in most blues songs.
Timely hitting is as important as the number of hits themselves. Scoring ZERO runs means our offense sucked. If I say our offense sucked, would that be more appropriate? It doesn't really matter what term we apply to it; we just sucked on offense in both games yesterday.
