How does Washington keep getting set up! We beat FC, SWE, WC, in our conference and they are getting better seeding ? So we are ahead of them in conference and that doesn’t mean anything

Oh ok. My reading comprehension is slow this morning. Well it’s not based solely on wins/losses. That rpi is based on a lot of things. Schedule, your opponent’s schedule, their opponent schedule. I try not to even pay much attention to it. Goes back to my 2nd sentence in this post.
If you have never been to Wallace Rose Hill you should go. Great atmosphere for football.

Not anymore. Conference finish only matters in relation to getting one of your conference's guaranteed playoff spots. Finish in the top 2 or 3, and you're in without having to worry about it. The conference champion is the only one that is guaranteed one of the top seeds. It really doesn't matter anymore where you finish if you don't win the championship. The toughness of your overall schedule and the toughness of your opponents schedules is what determines your playoff seed now. Just like in the Simmons Rating, which is absolutely outstanding, SWE finished next to last in the conference, but we are the conference's top rated team, based off of strength of opponents and other things. I don't agree with it wholeheartedly. I mean, it's hard to argue with numbers, but it's even harder to argue with results on the field.

Highschool OT is saying a team in the east may have to forfeit some games. Meeting this evening to make a decision. Eligibility requirements. Didn't say what team but it would effect the brackets if found guilty.

Mental breakdown coming again. Then disappear
😂 I only disappear in the off season. I cant state it enough, this isn’t our typical team here. I don’t see any team in the East coming within 3 tds against us. Im not speaking for other Northeastern posters, these are my thoughts based solely off the play throughout the season of the other top contenders in the East. I believe w/o question the East is horrible this year.

Goob, I hope your Eagles do well but it’s hard to say how good you guys are. You have beaten two 6-4 teams with the rest being at or below .500. Tough schedule isn’t required but let’s see how you do when it’s a little more difficult.

James, I don’t say that every year. Goobs has been talking about how different this team is and several non Northeastern posters seem to agree. I just checked the schedule and it’s hard to tell how good y'all are. If you make it to the title game, I’ll be pulling for you.

😂😂. One wish came true last week and I’m hoping my other wish comes true this postseason. That would be that WRH and either of the other two DC3 teams make the 2:45 trek to Elizabeth City. All three teams have big time fan bases that travel well. You have to respect that, football is just different in Duplin County ❤️❤️.

Securing a top spot in the conference is crucial for guaranteed playoff entry, but after that, the relevance of finishing position diminishes significantly. The focus now seems to be more on overall strength of schedule and performance against formidable opponents, which can be a double-edged sword.

Lets be serious, teams like SWE can finish low in their conference yet still be viewed favorably due to their opponents' strength. This underscores the complexity of the metrics used in ranking teams. The Simmons Rating you mentioned is an excellent illustration of how performance can be evaluated beyond mere win-loss records. People have seen teams from "weaker" conferences make a splash in the playoffs when they’ve faced tougher competition throughout the season, which reinforces the idea that a strong schedule can outweigh a less impressive conference standing.

Pretty much exactly what I said lol. I've seen winless teams at the midway point rated higher than teams with winning records because of the SOS. But who you play matters. I think we've always known that. But now we have the numbers to prove that. Seems like it kinda diminishes wins and losses too, until playoff time.

While it's true that who you play can impact a team's overall standing, I believe that wins and losses should remain the primary indicators of a team's success. Consider a team that consistently wins against weaker opponents but has a losing record against stronger teams. Their win-loss record reflects their ability to compete effectively, showcasing resilience and skill, regardless of the SOS. Also, a team with a winning record that has faced mostly lower-tier opponents may not have demonstrated the same level of competitiveness. While analytics and metrics are essential in evaluating performance, they can sometimes obscure the straightforward nature of sports: winning is what ultimately counts. In playoff scenarios, records become the defining factor, as they should.

How did you like that dawg pound? Tough place to have to get a playoff win. That rpi stuff that is used for seeding has an effect in so many ways. We beat ED in week 3 in non conference play. ED had 3 major starters go down in that game. They struggled some after that but then got on a good roll. All of their wins end up helping our rpi. Likewise with our in conference play. Some of the teams that beat us even had a positive effect on our rpi. You need to hang around. You are the only person I have ever seen on hear for the Pam Pack!

Well hopefully the huge Rose upset tonight along with how well Rocky Mount has been playing should open a few eyes. I understand that there are some posters that will never give any credit to how good a season NE has. Sadly many of them come from Duplin County. That’s why it’s so important for us to be able to get the much coveted matchup against either one or two of the DC3. This is just my take and I don’t speak for any of the other couple NE posters. As one JK poster stated earlier, DC schools are always in my head. Go Eagles,, go Aces

Why Goob? There's 12 other teams left in the east bracket, and you're still talking about the DC3. Smh, don't get caught Friday against Greene Central looking ahead. Ijs

Yeah Greene Central concerns me, especially seeing their convincing win over Midway. I was hoping Midway would advance but maybe another day. Gonna be nice having an unfamiliar team coming here. That seems to make the lead up to the game more exciting. I wish we could’ve gotten a free roll like JK has for next week but unfortunately we didn’t. Go Eagles 🦅

Man there isn't a free roll for anyone, anyone can be beat. I don't think that there's a super team out there that can't be defeated. JK isn't looking over no one, it's win or go home, survive and advance. LET'S GOOOO TIGERS 🐅

You know Martin County is basically a bye just like we knew Hertford County was the same for us yesterday. Don’t be all proper, it’s ok to just call it what it is. Tarboro won by 35 in Williamston and 1a Bertie (NE opponent) beat them. Jk by 4 tds plus

It doesn't matter what you say, we're not overlooking anyone. To us, Martin County is the best team in the east, and that's how we're going to approach it.
