Consider me among the stupid. I first proposed top 4 byes when reclassification was done two years ago. Eventually, they'll all come around.

Correct. And that usually means no 1st round slaughters and added incentive to have a good season. If you get a bye, you've earned it. Do you really want to see Caroline play LT or Dinwiddie again?

I believe that a bye week is really only an advantage if a team is beat up or maybe coming off a loss.. There is something to be said for keeping the momentum going. That said, the obvious advantage of having to play one less game to get to a championship is nice.

How can one team go from about 4 spots looking on the outside to #9. Usually teams only move up a couple of spots. Just asking and would like an explanation. At first they were on the bubble. I don't remember one team moving that far up in one game

Great looking draw if your a Salem fan. Aside from not getting homefield, they'll get regular season rematch against a team they demolished in RD2. RD3 will likely be a trip to Champe or home game against GW-Danville. I'm personally still on the fence about Champe and whether or not they are legit. GW-Danville will be as athletic a team they've seen all year, very interested to see how they fare against GW. Woodgrove-Sherando RD2 will be an awesome game. JF-LCA RD2 will be an awesome game. Whoever makes it out of the West will be more tested than in previous years IMO.

As LCA plays more public schools going forward their points will be easier to track in a timely fashion.

Lca was 12th going into this week so they weren't on the outside looking in. They had to win to stay in. They jumped 3 spots because seeds 11-9 lost. And those teams lost to bad teams so they got no rider points. Lca scored 38-36 points just from Benedictine because Benedictine was 8-1.

#10 Amherst lost to Appomattox 10-0, LCA earned 34 points (18+16=34, 2A + Benedictine's 8 wins)
