insanity. Someone needs to answer for that call. Even if it worked, it was insane.

When he called this early in the season I was pissed off but I thought each person deserves one chance. But then to call it here makes me wonder what the hell is going on?

1) You kick the field goal there
2) Janovich
3) QB sneak

With diff QB, maybe you try the fade, but you do it with your #1 receiver, and it was still the wrong down to try that.

Have you guys not seen the several posts and images of the play design? It was a brilliant design with Carter wide open in the flat for an easy first down. Possibly he scores if Tommy throws it where he's supposed to. Instead Tommy thinks he is Peyton Manning and decides on his own to throw the fade.

should have run ..but the fade option on 4th and one in the QBs mind shouldn't have even been in play

someone posted a twitter picture of Carter standing all by his lonesome 2 yards past the first down -- Tommy saw one on one coverage and predetermined he was going for the homerun ball .. didn't even look anywhere else

you can't allow Tommy any room to make any critical decisions on his own ... he is incapable of making wise choices ... just has no football IQ

TA was going to be the "hero" once again. He plays like he's playing flag football. Go deep.......

Fixed it for you.

TA makes up his mind where he is going as soon as the play is called. He does not go through progressions at all. If he did he would have seen 11 wide open for a first down.

The way Carter runs with the ball after the catch he probably would have scored.

What if Carter dropped it?

Bottom line is the bad decision was to call a play at all. Kick your field goal. You could have still ran on the final 2 drives had you done that.

As a coach you have to know your players.

Carter was wiiiiddddeeee open. Tommy made the wrong read.
So are you saying they never ran that play in practice before and coaches haven't instructed him where to look on short yardage? By the 12th game, the coaches know his poor decision making and should have signaled where to throw it. If they did do that and he ignored it, like possibly happened at Illinois, Tommy is no longer the QB. Either way it is the coaches that are failing this program and for the life of me can't figure out how you can not understand this. Were you a coach? If so, apparently, you hated your players cause as a fan you sure do.

hell the ball was out of TAs hand before Carter even finished his route .. absolutely can't believe anyone with an ounce of gray matter would throw that pass

POB WILL make mistakes as a true freshman, but he might learn from them. That's not the case now. I have never seen more ints that are thrown right to a defender. THE DEFENDER DOESNT EVEN MOVE! My dad asked me yesterday if Armstrong was color blind because he threw it better to iowa then our guys. I would even go as far to say that Armstrong has an nfl caliber arm, but a midget football iq and that's the major problem.

That alone is why we need to move on and find another QB for next season.

He's just not a west coast offense type quarterback. If you insist on these systems at the college level then find you a man with a serviceable skillset to force in to it. Sadly you cant really rely on inexperienced or even a game manager types in these pro style systems.

The coaches are playing the hand they were dealt. Whose fault is that there isn't one single division 1 caliber qb on the roster of a blueblood program?

The dude has the most passing Tds in the conference right now. The hyperbole make your post less credible. Just say he isn't good. He lucked into 296 yards passing against a tough defense.....the coaching has been piss poor regarding him. Stop calling plays he doesn't run well. And use him like any decent coach would. That 4th and 1 should have been a field goal anyways. Just like Illinois should have been a run straight ahead.

Plus Tommy has been horrible in windy games this year, yet you come out throwing the ball over 33 times before we were down

Tommy is a reflection of his coaches. Undisciplined and a bad decision maker. Who doesn't learn from their mistakes.

Bo wins this game, and you hate it. Why because we would have been a running team, not a team who runs just to do something between passes. Including using Armstrong as another runner.

2 and 3 from the 41. You pass 3 straight times including 4th down. Joke of a coaching staff.

And yet he's a terrible qb, just shows the guys know how to coach offense unlike the majority of you numnuts on here bitching and moaning at every turn....
